worth every penny

XTRAC PADS Ripper Mouse Pad
XTRAC PADS Ripper Mouse Pad

Pros: After spending thousands of dollars on newegg I never bother to write a review, but this time is an exception. To make the long story short: this is by far the best mouse pad I have ever seen or used. It fits and looks awesome on my huge computer desk. The mouse pad is bigger than my Logitech keyboard. And I love it this big. So yeah, make sure your desk has extra room. Imagine having two keyboards next to each other - thats about how much room you need. Pad's length is about the same as the keyboard, but by 1/3 wider. So really keep that into consideration before purchase.

Cons: no cons.

Overall Review: Using Logitech MX-18 mouse with this lovely product. Gamers would love it. I play both FPS and RTS games which are Quake2 and Company of Heroes.

Terrible device

NETGEAR N600 Dual Band WiFi Router (WNDR3400)
NETGEAR N600 Dual Band WiFi Router (WNDR3400)

Pros: I didn't pay for it. Going to get rid of it.

Cons: Wi-Fi range is terrible. I have this junk sitting in the living room, and the wireless signal in the next room goes down to one bar, which is only about 15 FT away. If I access it from the kitchen, which is ~30 FT away I get very poor signal and connection keeps dropping. So bad choice if you plan to use it as wi-fi access point with your android device.

Overall Review: Worst choice for Router. This is the second time my ISP, Optimum Online feeds me a Netgear, and both times terrible experience. In addition, no dd-wrt support. Going to get Linksys WRT54GL and flash it with dd-wrt as I did in my office and my mother's place where it is solid as a rock and wi-fi range is amazing.

NETGEAR ReadyNAS 104 4-Bay Network Attached Storage Diskless (RN10400)
NETGEAR ReadyNAS 104 4-Bay Network Attached Storage Diskless (RN10400)

Pros: Hi. I am interested in buying one of these units. Please provide reviews those who already bought it. I am interested to see some other reviews from someone who doesn't care about installing third party apps like the first negative review here.

Cons: Are there 4TB Western Digital Red disks coming out any time soon?

Overall Review: How good is this product for someone who just needs solid storage for home?

great case

SilverStone RAVEN RV02B-EW Matte black reinforced plastic outer shell, 0.8mm Steel body ATX Full Tower Computer Case
SilverStone RAVEN RV02B-EW Matte black reinforced plastic outer shell, 0.8mm Steel body ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: 1. Full tower - this doesn't mean that there is plenty of room to work with; it means that there is just enough space to work with. 2. Motherboard connectors come out the top of the case, instead of the traditional back of the case - this is the most brilliant idea for the computer case. Now I can actually put the tower on the floor right next to my desk and still have easy access to all the connections. This includes the USB connections and the power button - all at the top. 3. The 150 mm fans on the bottom are slick and quite. If you plan to go with liquid cooling and radiator, the radiator mounts right on top of the fans - that's just brilliant!!!

Cons: Even though I'm in love with this case, but I am giving it 4 eggs simply because there are things that I didn't like. So this is a part of the fair deal for proper feedback. Ok. Here is my biggest problem with this case. The case came with a 2 port USB 3.0 extension accessory which mounts in place of the floppy drive. Sounds like a great idea, doesn't it? But here is the thing. The floppy drive mounting brackets that came with the case are the most horrible and the cheapest worst things ever!!! They are just 2 pieces of plastic with many holes in them. It is the worst design ever. It was really difficult and annoying to try to figure out which holes to use in order to be able to mount the brackets assembly into the case. Not only that they are made out of plastic, they are made out of cheap plastic. There were no details in the manual about how to mount it. The only thing that it says is to use a certain type of screw, which is not even a "plastic" screw. It is a "metal" screw.

Overall Review: Cons-continued Even though it is listed in the specs - the case comes with only one adapter for internal SATA hard drivers. The current price on Newegg is $9 (+$2 shipping). Search for CP05 model name. It is not the end of the world, but for current $195 (+ $30 shipping) case I think not all, but these SATA accessories should be included. Also, you can just use your regular SATA and power connections traditionall way. Hot swappable HDD capability is really pointless in a desktop. The only reason I went for this model over cheaper RV02-BW ($170) is because HDDs mounting direction is "coming out" instead of the traditional way "coming in from the inside". Another thought that comes to mind is that this case comes with too many screws. I found it a little annoying to screw all the screws since my previous case came with almost no screws, where almost all the components except for the motherboard, used snap-ons. So if you buy this case prepare to use a screw driver a lot when building

RAID Works

Western Digital Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I have 4 of these configured in RAID 10 in a low-end PERC H200 controller in vMware ESXi 4.1 host and 4 more in RAID 5 in QNAP NAS in a small office. I also have a pair of 750 GB caviar blacks configured in RAID 1 on PERC H700 controller.

Cons: I had bad luck with only one of these drives which came in DOA. For some reason it was only 1 GB space instead of 2 GB.

Overall Review: Even though the manufacturer warns us that it is a non-RAID drive but in my experience RAID works fine.

Worst experience

XFX Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 Low Profile Ready Graphics Card HD-645X-ZNH2
XFX Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 Low Profile Ready Graphics Card HD-645X-ZNH2

Pros: Got this to replace Nvidia 7600GT in nForce4 chipset board.

Cons: This is the second time I am returning it. Both cards came in broken. Causes computer to freeze after about 5 minutes of Windows 7 starts. I have a feeling it locks up because the GPU overheats. Thought I didn't even bother checking the temperatures.

Overall Review: Do not buy it.
