Most Favorable Review

I haven't bogged it down yet.

Intel Core i7 8th Gen - Core i7-8700 Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.2 GHz (4.6 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 65W BX80684I78700 Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630

Pros: I have it mainly for running XPlane 11 and it typically loafs along at 30% even with almost everything maxed out. The video card I'm using is just a 1050 TI which is typically doing 35-50 FPS (with everything but anti-aliasing turned all the way up). The proc typically cruising along at 4.3GHz with the supplied stock cooler. Doesn't get hot at all.

Cons: No cons at all. It rocks.

Overall Review: Awesome processor, you won't regret it.

Very nice board for the price

ASRock Z370 Extreme4 LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: It's working extremely well for running XPlane 11with a Core I7-8700, 2400 DDR4 RAM, a 1070 TI, and a SATA SSD. The BIOS options seem good though all that I did was set the date and time, looked around, and that was that. Build quality seems solid, and it's running Win10Pro flawlessly.

Cons: None. This board coupled with a 1070TI has been nothing but flawless running X-Plane and various games.

It's working great with a Core I7-8700 running XPlane11

G.SKILL Sniper X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C17D-16GSXK
G.SKILL Sniper X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C17D-16GSXK

Pros: The system is fast as heck with an ASRock Z370 Extreme4 board, a Core I7-8700 Proc, and a 1050TI video card. The system is getting 35-50 FPS on XPlane11 with everything but Anti-Aliasing maxed out.

Cons: No cons, my system hasn't hiccuped yet after several hours of XPlane11 and Team Fortress 2.

Overall Review: It's a safe buy.

Rock solid

CISCO CISCO861-K9 861 Ethernet Security Router 1 x 10/100Mbps WAN Ports 4 x 10/100Mbps LAN Ports

Pros: Can handle 25 or more people doing everything you can think of, multiple site-to-site and client to site VPN connections, play very well with the VPN client built into Macs, iPhones, & iPads. It will do VPN with practically whatever the other side has. I get virtually no "it ain't working" call backs on these things. The only thing that takes them down is a power outage. I personally much prefer the Cisco style of firewalling & NAT over SonicWall and Juniper.

Cons: You pretty much have to get the $50 subscription to Cisco (usually from another popular retailer of Cisco products) for this and pretty much any Cisco product in order to get firmware updates and the "Cisco Configuration Professional" package. It doesn't come with the "Cisco Configuration Professional", which is pretty much a have-to-have as the builtin web-based configuration utility doesn't configure any of the features that you would buy this for. If you want to be "hard core" you can use the CLI if you like carpel tunnel. It's gotten better in the last year, but they can have badly buggy firmware out of the box and you might have to back-date the firmware.

Overall Review: If you don't make a living doing complex networking, don't bother with these or anything other "commercial grade router". You need to spend a lot of quality time figuring out the gotchas & bugs in addition to "advanced" networking concepts. SonicWalls, WatchGuards, and Junipers can be just as bad or worse (I've seen Juniper be stunningy worse in terms of bugs), so just call somebody.

Works Great!

Pros: It works; good bang for the buck. Haven't gotten a bad Blue yet (out of 10 or so).

Cons: None.
