Pretty Good

Pros: Bought this for my grandmother (an upgrade from WebTV). It works perfectly for what she needs.
Cons: gOS seems to be in BETA still (lots of little bugs). I installed Mandriva on it and it is an excellent computer.
Overall Review: Much better than I expected it to be.
8 Hours of usage and bricked

Pros: Price, Capacity, Speed
Cons: Hooked up drive and it worked just fine. Copied a few files to see speed and it was fast. Came home from work 8 hours after hooking it up and device is bricked. Status light is blue from moment it turned on and no ethernet lights at all. I saw a few posts in their forum with similar problems caused by it not wanting to wake up. RMAing the drive with WD and hopefully replacement will not have same issue.
Overall Review: It is probably just a fluke. If they all did this WD would have given up making these things back when 1TB was huge.
After Two Months Working Great

Pros: Low cost, works great.
Cons: If using this board for Linux has one quark with on-board LAN but fix is easy.
Overall Review: If using this board with current Linux distributions you will most likely need to install the latest network driver because the kernel detects the wrong one. The download is available from the Realtek site if you search for Realtek 8168 driver. Also make sure you download the one titled LINUX driver for kernel 3.x and 2.6.x and 2.4.x. Once installed the integrated gigabit works perfectly.
Does Exactly What I Need

Pros: Device works great on any TV from SD to 1080P. Streaming movies in SD, 720, 1080 work fine and I can't find a format it can't handle.
Cons: None
Overall Review: When streaming using network shares (SMB) 1080p can't keep up (Something with the protocol I believe). Use a UPNP server instead and it will play with no skips or loss of audio during playback.
Better than Expected

Pros: Had this drive for a week now. Extremely fast transfers over gigabit. Lives up to it's name for size, it really is the size of a small book. Also very quiet when transferring files (it's 5 ft away from me and I can't hear it).
Cons: Definitely the software, it just seems really clunky. Used it for a couple minutes then removed it. If not using this for backup purposes I recommend checking your router for the IP address assigned to the device and configuring it using it's web interface.
Worked Great for 15 Days

Pros: Was able to segregate my devices to speed up network utilizing both the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. Gigabit ports. Lots of extra features. Device worked great for 15 days exceeding my expectations. Very short wait for Tech Support when you need help.
Cons: Day 16 device making high pitched noise when powered on. 2.4 and 5 Ghz Wireless totally inoperative. Reset a bunch of times with tech support who states the solution is to try different versions of firmware. None of 4 different versions did solve the problem. "Problem must by on your laptops". Frustrating to deal with them.
Overall Review: I bought this device to replace a 4 year old router that works flawlessly (albeit only 54Mbps). Hoping for this one to last at least that long. I am not an EE but sound it makes similar to bad capacitor so it may be a manufacturing defect (sure they make a few thousand of these a day). I am giving this product two eggs in the hopes that was the issue and the replacement I am getting after RMA will work flawlessly for a few years.
