What a deal
Pros: Refurbished but like New. Very cheap, used hard drives of smaller capacities sell for a higher price.
Cons: Only 160GB and 5400RPM but I knew that when I purchased this.
Overall Review: Why by refurbished? I've had very good luck with them. Like I said earlier if you try purchasing any 2.5" hard drive used on the web they are highly expensive for their age and small capacity. This 160GB refurbished HDD from WD was cheap, plus you get some sort of warranty.
Worst purchase from Newegg
Pros: It was cheap. Almost $20 or less
Cons: 1) It burned out in less then an hour 2) I played DA:O to test the power supply with my new 4850 video card 3) it did okay while on normal all low settings, but after i turned everything on max the pc turned off in a few minutes..and the power supply died
Overall Review: I'm gong to only buy big brand compouter components from now on It's not newegg's fault at all, they offered a free refund and all, the item was just too bad..it was light as a baseball or even lighter
Great RAM but one was bad
Pros: This particular RAM is great for the money you pay. I bought it when it was on sale for $64-65. CAS 10 2400MHz at that price is pretty nice and even 1600MHz RAM can be priced this high. For the cheap price it comes with decent heatsinks. Black PCB is a plus if you don't want green RAM to mess with your mostly black color scheme. Did I mention this is fast. Even though my 860K has no IGP 2400MHz boosted my gaming performance.
Cons: The computer booted fine and ran normally without any issue. But slightly more extensive things like gaming would have crashes. In some cases only the game crashed and in some cases the PC freezed up. I extensively tested my CPU, Power supply, video card, and hard drives and they all passed the stability tests with flying colors. Today I tested the RAM. First stick ran at the stock 2400MHz speed and 10-12-12-31 timings at the 1.65v for 6+ hours of Memtest86+ without any errors. Then I removed the good stick of ram and inserted the second stick of RAM into a known good slot. In the first 10 minutes the second stick of RAM got 18 errors in Memtest86+. Just in case I stopped Memtest86+, went into the BIOS to make sure everything was at stock settings and reran the test. This time I got over 1000 errors on that stick of RAM under 10 minutes.
Overall Review: I was really hoping for memory without errors out of the package. I'm a bit sad that one of the sticks were bad. Now I'll have to begin an RMA process with GSKILL which will take a little time to get RMA approval, ship, fix, receive new ones. I won't have a working desktop during that time period. Also sad I'll have to pay shipping out of my pocket to get something replaced, but at least I've heard mostly good things of GSkill's Customer Support.
CAT7 all you need
Pros: This is all you need really unless your doing serious networking. Sturdy and thick cabling.
Cons: Nothing really.
Overall Review: I only had 3mbps DSL and now 15MB broadband so I can't really test the full potential. Still being used years later.
Great non conductive paste
Pros: Being non conductive this is one of the safest and best performing thermal compounds. I used it on more than 5 different desktops and even as paste for a laptop video card. It has kept all components cool.
Cons: These are always very small in quantity
Overall Review: I wish I bought a lot as local stores don't have good thermal paste.
Still working on HP Laptop
Pros: Put it in my dad's laptop. The HP 4530s now runs 8GB of RAM on a 2nd gen i3 CPU. Performs well for it's need.
Cons: None at all.
Overall Review: Unless the RAM is needed for Desktop Gaming you don't need a heatsink.
Slow Processing/Shipping
Shipping/Processing was REALLY slow. But the item and packaging were great. Item was in perfect condition and still works. I don't know if the headset I bought will break any time soon, but so far I am happy.
