Works, Mostly

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Great price for an X58 motherboard. Gigabyte name. Tons of options in the BIOS. Lots of great features on the board. Everything worked fine out of the box (for a while).

Cons: On-board NIC sucks. I don't know why they even included it since you have to disable it and replace it with a PCI one. Mine worked fine at first, but within a few days, the OS stopped seeing it. It showed up in the BIOS, but not in the OS. Sometimes disabling in BIOS, rebooting, and then enabling again would fix it, but even that stopped working after a while. I finally just disabled it and installed a PCI NIC.

Overall Review: I would have bought this board at the price I paid without the on-board NIC, but everybody includes one on-board now days. If you're going to include it, it should work. There are lots of reviews that mention this problem, but Gigabyte doesn't seem to acknowledge that they have a wide-spread problem with some of these boards. The frustration of having it work and then stop is why I'm upset with them, and I'd rather eat the cost of a PCI GB NIC than be without the whole board while it goes in for RMA. Very lame, Gigabyte, very lame. Shame on you.

Pros: * Speed * Number of cores * Power Requirements

Cons: * None

Overall Review: My five year-old processor died and for only a bit more than getting an exact replacement, I was able to get this processor, motherboard and RAM. It seems much faster than before, but that's just anecdotal.

Pros: This printer has excellent print quality. It's relatively quiet and I love the built in networking. My macbook pro even picked it right up over the network. Very nice for the price.

Cons: It was a little difficult to setup in Windows 7.
