Can't beat the quality for the price

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Quiet, sleek looking, and cheap. Great build quality with nice fit and finish. No sharp edges. Plenty of room for most people. Good airflow for keeping the internals cool.

Cons: Not going to ding it, but I would thing that rubber grommets for hd's would be standard by now.

Overall Review: BTX case, but small enough that you shouldn't have too much of a problem with psu cable length.

not what i expected

PowerColor Radeon X800GTO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card X800GTO256MBDDR3
PowerColor Radeon X800GTO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card X800GTO256MBDDR3

Pros: um...cclocks "appear" to be running at advertised speeds.

Cons: I returned an x800 (due to poor performance vs what was expected) to this and I am actually getting worse benchmark scores. This has a small core advantage, 280 mhx effective memory clock advantage, and twice the video memory but scores worse? Doesn't make sense.

Overall Review: Ticked that the day after I ordered this the x850xt went from one fitty to one twenty...bah

You will not do better

EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2 220-G2-0550-Y1 80+ GOLD 550W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply
EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2 220-G2-0550-Y1 80+ GOLD 550W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

Pros: Fully modular Fully sleeved cables Comes with all the important acronyms (OVP-Over Voltage Protection), UVP, OCP, OPP (yeah you know me!) and SCP 7 year warranty Tons of accessories, including a self test adapter and a nice little cable bag to store the cables you don't use

Cons: None, but it gives you 3 pci-e connectors...seems odd, maybe they are making a GTX 980 TITAN MOAR card that can't run on 2 8 pins...so they thought ahead...not a con though, just...odd

Overall Review: If you haven't looked at jonnyguru's site before purchasing a power supply, shame on you, punishment is on it's way. If you have, then you know this unit received a 10 out of 10, and for good reason. Like most psu's out there, EVGA uses another manufacturer to build it's units, then tags the unit with their logo. Super Flower Leadex, an amazing manufacturer, is the OEM for this unit. I could bore you with all the details about what capacitors it uses (Nippon Chemi-Con), how quiet the fan is, how many amps it pumps out (you can read that on the box, or calculate yourself amps=watts/volts), etc and boring. The seller here, at least for me, is the ripple control on these units. Clean, stable power means a stable pc. The most important component of any computer, despite what some may tell you, is the psu. Many people skimp on the psu, and shell out for high-graphics, or a 12 core cpu they will never fully utilize. Then cry sweet tears of sorry when their rig dies 3 years later because the psu had mad soldering, failing to prevent over voltage to their precious $500 video card. Splurge on the psu, spend the rest of your budget where you can. Fortunately for you and me, this unit is dirt cheap for the quality it brings. Buy it...now.

best bang for the buck

XFX Radeon HD 4770 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card HD-477A-YDFC
XFX Radeon HD 4770 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card HD-477A-YDFC

Pros: as stated, 40 nm technology. runs cool and uses very little power. the dual slot cooler is a beast and allows for some heavy overclocking as well as venting the hot air out of your case. fits in a mid-tower no problem. runs anything out at mid to high settings. xfx warranty is amazing. only takes one six-pin pci connector to run. i believe 25 amps on the 12 volt rail is required, but it may only be 20.

Cons: none

Overall Review: if interested, you can flash the bios to an asus 4770 toppower, and use their software to do a soft volt mod. allows for crazy overclocks.

rated number 1 for a reason

CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-620HX 620 W ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-620HX 620 W ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Pros: clean, stable power. plenty of connections. 5 year warranty. 1-6 pin and 1 -6+2 pin pci-e connector. quiet but powerful fan to keep internals cool. chunky internal sinks to dissipate heat.

Cons: this will not run a high-end sli system. has the power, but not the connectors. didn't take away an egg though because few people need that much graphics poweer.

Overall Review: corsair is rated the number 1 psu manufacturer. they skimp on nothing. high quality capacitors, components. you cant go wrong with this unit. can't believe I didn't rate this before.

excellent card/bang for the buck IS 55nm CHIP!

Galaxy GeForce GTS 250 512MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card 25SFF6HMUEXX
Galaxy GeForce GTS 250 512MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card 25SFF6HMUEXX

Pros: g92 55nm process...low power consumption and good thermal properties. excellent overclocker.

Cons: none, for a card this price, you can expect nothing more.

Overall Review: did not buy from newegg, sorry fellas. had to grab it on a spur of the moment change of heart with a customer. but had to post to correct misleading information from an earlier review. this card is not an old 65nm chip. they havent used 65nm chips since the 512 mb 9800 gts. they moved to 55nm with the 9800gts+. this is a rebadge of the 9800gts+, and if you do research, you would know that so don't ding a card for your lack of knowledge. it has 2-6 pin power connectors to aid in overclocking, not because it is 65nm. there is no such thing as a 65nm gts 250. hope this helps.
