Intel 335 Series Jay Crest SSDSC2CT240A4K5 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Intel 335 Series Jay Crest SSDSC2CT240A4K5 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: The drive is rock solid and reliable. This is not my first SSD, but I am happy with performance and operation. Power saving options on this computer works perfectly.

Cons: Had issues with the alignment software, it crashed and I could not overcome issue. I could not get it to run properly under win7-64. The software to transfer data from old drive worked. I ended up rebuilding from scratch but only because I wanted some changes. I did build initially from the old boot drive with no issues.

Overall Review: I would buy this drive again. I needed the space this SSD provides for a primary OS drive. Operation and use has been relatively painless.

Most Critical Review

Documentation worthless

Cooler Master CM Storm Trigger Mechanical Gaming Keyboard CherryMX Blue Switch USB + Wrist Rest
Cooler Master CM Storm Trigger Mechanical Gaming Keyboard CherryMX Blue Switch USB + Wrist Rest

Pros: The CherryMX blue keyboard is the best typing keyboards I have seen since the early 80s reminding me of an IBM Selectric typewriter. My accuracy and speed have improved the short time I have had this board. The lit keyboard is perfect for day or night use. Software is good, but should have a help file and a version ID.

Cons: Documentation is the absolute worst I have seen on any product in this price range.(can you say worthless as a mammary gland on a boar) The online manual for the key board drops you to a page not found error (as well as several of the FAQs.at their website. Their downloadable PDF manual consists of one page of pretty much useless information. The fabric covered wires as well as the mini USB port on the keyboard (seems like a full sized port would have been more durable) are not a better idea as the tend to hang instead of slide on the back of a keyboard tray or keyboard slide-out. If you move the keyboard you may well unplug it. The wires do not slide as a vinyl coating would. One must have an internet connection to get driver software which is a 100MB+ download and no CD. No illumination on special key symbols and the symbols are located at the bottom of the key instead the traditional top of key (keys such as @/.,}{:' (ect.) and they are difficult to see. But if you know where they should be, it isn't a huge issue.

Overall Review: If you are looking for a good typing keyboard with macro support and nighttime typing this isn't a bad choice. If you for example want to know how to make the multimedia keys work, well I am still trying to figure that out.

I like this mouse

SteelSeries Rival Optical Gaming Mouse
SteelSeries Rival Optical Gaming Mouse

Pros: Most consider this a con But I prefer the smooth cable over fabric encased ones, it allows me to twitch without hangups. I did download the software and installed and used it without a hitch. A bit odd how the macros operate (by macro number, then you assign a number to a button,), but doable and more flexible than other mfg software I have used. This appears to be a better mouse than one with weight I bought at 3 times the price. The mouse is big but comfortable controls well laid out.. This mouse is accurate with acceleration deceleration off, it is precision control. With the max default polling rate of 1000, both axises are precise. I like the scroll wheel silent tactile click and precise. While I just got this mouse today, as of now I am completely satisfied, money well spent. 2 adjustable DPI precision modes a simple button away.. The colors are easy to adjust both to match, if you simply use the RGB number of the color you want. ( I wanted red to match my red keyboard) perfect match. I felt the mouse well balanced, I have seen complaints of light and flimsy, but for me the balance appears right..

Cons: you need an internet connection to update firmware and download software. You are not required to use the cloud to store settings but there is an option to setup all your settings macros to the cloud if you wish.

Overall Review: It is a mouse, but these days it seems harder and harder to find one that does what it is suppose to, with working software. Even without installing software the mouse functions as a traditional mouse. I may update this evaluation in 6 months, but I am please as punch with this mouse fit and function and accuracy over other gaming mice I have used in the very short time I have had it.

Good cables

Rosewill RCDV-11011 - 1.6-Foot (50 cm) SATA III Cable with Locking Latch

Pros: Does what they are suppose to. Locking clip functions easily (some cables don't have this). Cable is well made.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I would buy again.

Great gaming/graphics monitor

ASUS VS248H-P 24" 1920 x 1080 Full HD VGA DVI HDMI Asus Eye Care with Ultra Low-Blue Light & Flicker-Free LED Backlit LCD Monitor
ASUS VS248H-P 24" 1920 x 1080 Full HD VGA DVI HDMI Asus Eye Care with Ultra Low-Blue Light & Flicker-Free LED Backlit LCD Monitor

Pros: Bright monitor, high contrast excellent for dark scenes in games, video playback excellent. I found the controls easy to use. Stand is steady and screen tilts easily but holds set position. Power saving works perfectly, monitor always wakes up (can be problematic with some monitors). Solid packaging, all possible needed cables included.

Cons: One intermittent pixel near screen center that occasionally just turns itself on. It has been operating properly today but suspect that stray pixel will misbehave again.

Overall Review: Other than the single pixel issue which I can live with this is an outstanding monitor, bright enough one almost needs shades, contrast is amazing, suitable real estate for side by side pages. I am content with this purchase, just wish I could afford to buy a couple more. I would buy it again.
