CORSAIR 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model VS2GSDS667D2

Pros: I bought this for my EEE PC a long time ago, and so far, I have yet to notice any issues with it. Seems to be working as advertised.

Cons: None yet.

ASUS Laptop AMD Turion X2 RM-75 (2.20GHz) 4GB Memory 320GB HDD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 17.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit K70AB-X2A

Pros: It's a physically gorgeous model, nice 17" screen, nice big keyboard, good price. It mostly works as a computer, and has not exploded, melted, etc. It is largely reliable for what I've come to use it for, which is to say word processing.

Cons: I have problems with this machine locking up both on Windows and Ubuntu. After driver and BIOS updates, this problem persists at a low rate. The CPU/fan get surprisingly worked up when I play flash videos, and it seems to have some overheating issues. This isn't with high-performance gaming, this is with a machine I mainly use for websurfing, wordprocessing, and playing videos. I have the touchpad turned off in the BIOS, because it's kinda twitchy and pretty bad. Nevertheless, the touchpad turns itself back on after I close and re-open the lid. Battery life isn't so hot, either. I'm sometimes out after less than two hours from a full charge ... with the sound turned off and the monitor on the dimmest setting.

Very stylish, pretty durable

SOLO Silver 17" Aluminum Attache Model AC100
SOLO Silver 17" Aluminum Attache Model AC100

Pros: Fits full size 17" laptop. Personally, I've been able to also cram in accessories, papers, and a couple small books as well. It's very stylish, IMO, and I get compliments on it at my university; it's held up to some pretty serious punishment so far. Overall, calling it fantastic.

Cons: I can see the signs of wear and tear on it already. Granted, I've put it through the grinder, but the cloth on the interior back has started to come loose from the seam on the bottom corner, one corner leaves a gap when closed, and it's accumulating scratches/dents. Not sure there are other cases on the market that would hold up to what I put this through better, especially for the price, so I give it a 5, but there is room to improve further.

Overall Review: I bought this with my new 17" ASUS K70AB. It fits neatly inside. Thus far, it's fulfilled admirably the function of carrying it and preventing damage. PRO TIP: Get rid of the silica gel packets ASAP. They burst on me, and a couple got caught in the groove next to the hinge, which bent it a bit when I closed it. Took me a while to clean them up, and that corner isn't quite watertight now.

Pros: Really portable. Bounces well. Integral webcam seems pretty good, actually. Fast boot, highly reliable.

Cons: Takes a week to get used to the tiny keyboard. Display is a little small.

Overall Review: Get a media card for storage. It's worth it. Since getting this, I have become a highly impatient user of computers - the eee's boot and program load times have spoiled me.
