MO-MO-MONSTER KILL!!

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB AMP! Extreme, ZT-90505-10P
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB AMP! Extreme, ZT-90505-10P

Pros: * Fastest factory clocked 980 Ti currently released * Highest stable O/C - able to reach stable +100 GPU/+400 RAM over the factory O/C settings (total of 1353MHz on core and 8020MHz on RAM, and >1500MHz on core during boost) * Incredible cooling (check temps on guru3d review) * No coil whine * Extremely well built (like the tank of GPU's) * Backplate eliminated sag

Cons: * Weird fan noise * Takes 3 slots for those who plan on SLI

Overall Review: Zotac really hit the bull's eye with this card. I was hesitant at first because of the brand name, but after reading Guru3D's review as well as comparing to my previous Gigabyte G1, I took the leap of faith in hopes of getting higher OC clocks. My card has an ASICS value of 76.0, and was able to OC easily to a stable clock of +100/+400 from using MSI Afterburner, applying a 60% fan speed (which is not noticeable inside the case) and a +87 mV core voltage and +11% power limit. I've ran it for about a month now with a combination of Unigine Heaven loop, 3D-Mark Firestrike, Witcher 3, CSGO, Heroes of the Storm, and various other games and did not get a single crash/freeze, BSOD or card reboot with these settings. I don't have the best airflow inside my case, and with an ambient temp of 72'F my card would not past 67'F on the core with a constant 60% fan setting. I think the 60% fan setting is optimal, it barely sounds louder than the 50% or 55% and provides enough cooling for any application at pretty much any OC clocks. When not doing any graphical demanding work, I leave the fan on auto, which basically turns off the fan and the temp hovers below 40'F. I was also able to hit +75/+400 stable without any changes in voltage or power limit, so if you don't care about the extra +25 MHz on the core, then this setting will run even cooler and quieter. I was also able to hit +125 MHz on the core and finish 3D Mark Firestrike, but Heaven crashed after 15 minutes. An OC of +150 MHz on core did not allow me to finish Firestrike. I also didn't see a reason to OC the RAM past +400, so I never bothered trying to OC it further. The only thing that bugs me is that the left most fan makes a weird noise, equivalent to the noise of coil whine, when it gets over 50% fan speed. It completely goes away when I stop the fan with my finger, so it's definitely some kind of mechanical issue. I decided that it didn't bother me enough to return the card, especially with the OC speed I was able to obtain. I can't hear it if I'm playing a game with either speakers or headphones, and I usually leave it on auto speed when not doing any GPU intensive work, so the fan is off. Contrary to common belief, there is ZERO coil whine on this card, and it's possible to replace the heatsink with a water block which completely eliminates this noise. Overall, I don't understand why this card isn't getting more attention than the other brands (particularly the Gigabyte G1 and the EVGA's, which this outperforms). It overclocks better than any other card, has the highest factory OC clocks, and most efficient cooling. I had the G1 originally and could not get past a +50 MHz OC on the core and had to deal with a bad coil whine so I got the Zotac instead. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this card. Zotac, even with their poor previous reputation, really showed an improvement in their top-tier products and I have a new found respect for them. It is an absolute MO-MO-MO-MO-MONSTER KILL!!

Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus - 550W Power Supply
Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus - 550W Power Supply

Pros: Good cheap PSU that came with my case

Cons: Fan makes a horrendous noise after awhile, because it keeps jamming then starting jamming and starting, really bugs the heck out of me. Going to get a quality brand like seasonic or antec

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AMP Extreme 11GB GDDR5X 352-bit Gaming Graphics Card VR Ready 16+2 Power Phase Freeze Fan Stop IceStorm Cooling Spectra Lighting ZT-P10810C-10P
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AMP Extreme 11GB GDDR5X 352-bit Gaming Graphics Card VR Ready 16+2 Power Phase Freeze Fan Stop IceStorm Cooling Spectra Lighting ZT-P10810C-10P

Pros: * Fastest stock O/C currently of any custom GTX 1080 Ti board, higher than AORUS Xtreme * Very cool RGB lighting (for those who are having trouble using the included software, use this link: https://www.zotac.com/us/page/firestorm) * Incredible cooling * No coil whine * Extremely well built (like the tank of GPU's) * Backplate eliminated sag

Cons: * Takes 3 slots for those who plan on SLI * Included software NOT working as intended (use this link instead: https://www.zotac.com/us/page/firestorm)

Overall Review: * I'm a very happy owner of the previous 980 Ti Zotac AMP Extreme card (read my review under "MO-MO-MONSTER KILL!!" under https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500379&Tpk=N82E16814500379). * I had to buy another Zotac AMP Extreme card knowing how impressed I was with the previous product, and this card definitely meet or exceed my expectations so far. The card is build like a tank, the lighting is cool as heck, and it's the highest stock O/C custom GTX 1080 Ti available right now. Even the new HOF version has the same clocks and when it's release it's bound to be more expensive. Very minimal or no coil whine. Custom cooler is even better than the 980 Ti AMP Extreme. So far I haven't hit over 70' celcius even with OC settings. * Some of the reviews below docked points due to the included software not working as intended. I would definitely use this link for an up-to-date version of the firestorm software: https://www.zotac.com/us/page/firestorm I just got my card today, so pending further review for O/C max and benchmark results. But so far, Zotac really hit the bull's eye again with this card. They are really creating a better name for themselves with these top-tier AMP Extreme products. I really don't understand why people are getting the MSI or the Asus versions with lower O/C settings and inferior cooling.

Incredible value

Pros: Got this x2 for CF while the V.Me sale was going on, $178 AR. Didn't expect to get both with the 7970 PCB (rare these days but were the best OC'ers of 7950 cards, apparently everyone who ordered during the sale got one with the 7970 PCB). This is also the OC version meaning that it comes out of the box clocked at 960/1250. I pushed both cards to 1100/1500 (7970 speeds) without even changing the core or memory voltage, so I'm sure there's headroom to play with. This at $178 was the video card deal of the year IMO, I jumped from a score of 9400 in 3D Mark 11 on my OC'ed 7970 @ 1200/1600 to 13500 with 7950 CF @ 1100/1500. Now I'm going to sell my 7970 for $300, and the games for $50 on each card to pretty much break even with close to 50% performance boost on 3D Mark. Expect more like 80% boost in FPS from games though.

Cons: Due to the size of the fan, it's very loud at 100%. In fact it's the loudest fan I've ever heard, but you'll hardly reach higher than 70% max speeds running on auto as the cooler does its job well.

Overall Review: Video card deal of the year

Incredible

DIAMOND Radeon HD 5970 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card A5970PE52G
DIAMOND Radeon HD 5970 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card A5970PE52G

Pros: Exceptional card for the money. It's a 3 year card I know, but it supports DirectX 11 like all current generation cards do, and beats every other single card out there with the exception of 6990. Runs at x16 when other CF cards run at x8. I run Battlefield 3 at ULTRA settings, with only AA turned off, at 70-120 FPS with 64 players in a large map! Skyrim maxed out, 1080 resolution with x8AA, x16AF runs 60fps and lowest at 40 at a specific angle in Whiterun. I don't need another card until the 7000 series comes out, then I'm going to CF the shi- out of it :)

Cons: It's HUGE. Weighs like 10 pounds. You better have room, it measures about 12.4 inches. Hmm this sounds like a certain part of my body :) As a side note, this card is x2 5870, but it runs at 725/1000 rather than the 5870 default clock at 850/1200. So, if you can get x2 5870 at $300, it might have been a better deal.
