Most Favorable Review

Great for a secondary PC / HTPC

ASRock Challenger Arc A380 6GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ITX Video Card A380 CLI 6G OC
ASRock Challenger Arc A380 6GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ITX Video Card A380 CLI 6G OC

Pros: Better video encoder than RTX 4000 or RX 7000, beats my 4090 in quality at same bitrate. ARC drivers are fixed from what I can tell, no glitches/freezes/crashes so far. Low power consumption. More VRAM than similarly priced cards (6GB vs 6500XT 4GB) Cheap

Cons: Heatsink is cheap extruded aluminum but the power limit maxes out at 66w for this board in ARC Control so its not that important.

Overall Review: Had it for 5 months now with no problems to report.

Most Critical Review

6GHz band dissapears at random intervals kicking off devices

Omada EAP773 | BE11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Wireless Access Point | 1 x 10 GB PoE+ Port | Multi-link operation, SDN Integrated | Cloud Access & Omada App | w/o DC Adapter
Omada EAP773 | BE11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Wireless Access Point | 1 x 10 GB PoE+ Port | Multi-link operation, SDN Integrated | Cloud Access & Omada App | w/o DC Adapter

Pros: Fast, until the 6GHz band drops. 2.4/5GHz bands don't drop out.

Cons: Bought it specifically for 6GHz band for fast WiFi on my 10G LAN, and I do appreciate the irony that its the only band with dropouts. Has not received a firmware update since last year.

Overall Review: Found multiple posts of others with the same issue as me while trying to diagnose this issue, but no real solutions. I would return it if it was still in its return window.

Great hardware, no so great software.

ASUS AM4 TUF GAMING X570-Plus ATX Motherboard with PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2, 12+2 with Dr. MOS Power Stage, HDMI, DP, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Aura Sync RGB Lighting
ASUS AM4 TUF GAMING X570-Plus ATX Motherboard with PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2, 12+2 with Dr. MOS Power Stage, HDMI, DP, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Aura Sync RGB Lighting

Pros: Lots of connectivity (8 SATA, USB) Strong and well cooled VRM Sleek design with optional lighting Chipset fan is quiet Reinforced PCIE slot USB 3.2 Gen2 Type A and C ports

Cons: Injects bloatware into Windows by default UEFI is somewhat buggy, ignores clicks if the mouse is moving Shows warning messages on boot if using AIO pump header instated of CPU fan header Can't disable individual SATA ports

Overall Review: Works well, as long as you disable bloatware in UEFI settings.

Great thermal conductivity

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Grease Paste - 1.0 Gram
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Grease Paste - 1.0 Gram

Pros: Tamed my 3950x, full load temps ~60-65.

Cons: Only enough for two applications, though it would be a little bigger.

Overall Review: Works as advertised.

Excellence Performance, fake boost clock

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X - Ryzen 9 3rd Gen 16-Core 3.5 GHz Socket AM4 105W Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000051WOF
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X - Ryzen 9 3rd Gen 16-Core 3.5 GHz Socket AM4 105W Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000051WOF

Pros: Extremely high multi threaded performance, lots of cache, runs significantly cooler than my 9900k did.

Cons: Boost clock is fake, maximum speed is 4.4GHz.

Overall Review: Paid 1200CAD with tax, would have liked to see the advertised boost clock on such an expensive part. Other than that the overall performance is great.
