Addendum-bad power supply

Pros: This is an addendum to my previous review. To review, I was experiencing sudden power shutdowns. HWMonitor was showing unusual voltage readings. The thought was that the 500 watt PS was bad. This was replaced -> still had the problem. Thought was that it was a bad voltage regulator or controller on the mobo. I replaced the whole unit, rebuilt it with the same hardware. It STILL had the sudden power shutdowns. I took out the graphics card and tried different memory - still had the issue. Finally, it dawned on me that I would not have been able to install the OS with this going on - the only change in hardware was the mPCI WLAN card that came from Shuttle direct from China. Once I pulled this card and used just the onboard NIC, the problem went away ! Go figure - I've never run into this one before. I have since ordered a new Intel WLAN card and will see if it remains stable. The computer itself is now quite stable and doing fine and regains an egg.
Cons: It appears the Shuttle provided WLAN accessory card is not a stable addition for this computer. I thought about a BIOS update to 203 (I have 201), but it really didn't address the issue and I was afraid it would power off in the middle of the flash ! Also the HWMonitor program appears to be reading erroneous voltage values.
Infant Mortality

Overall Review: Ive been reading about the newer SSDs having this percentage of infant mortality - that is there is a percent that fails early in its service. This may not be a specific problem with WD, but with the newer NVMe SSDs in general. However, under good recommendation, I purchased this drive and installed Win11 in a new build. Installation went well and was unremarkable. The next day, after I woke the computer up, it booted to BIOS and would never boot to Windows again. The EFI drive could not be deleted or attributes changed. A Linux LiveCD running GParted and then Fdisk could not do anything with it either. I was left to conclude that the drive was at fault. Ill be installing a new one, but as the original packaging is long gone, Ill have to eat the cost on this one. An expensive lesson.
Attractive case with some caveats

Pros: Love the tempered glass look and the RGB bling Has a nice power supply hide-away box Very good cable management with an included SSD drive carrier on the back of the motherboard mounting plate
Cons: I use m-ATX motherboards and they fit fine. I would watch the length of regular ATX motherboards as they may have issues fitting. The HDD carriers are on the bottom of the case adjacent to where the power supply slides in. The problem is this makes it extremely difficult to cable the power supply with this cage riveted in. I spent an inordinate amount of time squeezing and pushing things around to get a Corsair RM750x plugged up. Could use some rubber grommets on the HDD carriers.
Overall Review: I probably would not purchase this case again. The finished product looks great but you work to get there. I still love the Corsair Obsidian - as a comparison case - plenty of room, but no PS case or RGB bling. And I still use optical drives. With this case, you have to use an external ODD.
Got a bad one

Pros: Love the form factor and thought it would be great with a Shuttle SZ87R6 - for my daughter's Christmas.
Cons: This one took plenty of investigating as I just couldn't believe the problem experienced was due to the SSD. I was having sudden power off episodes after installing the OS on this SSD, installed on a Shuttle SZ87R6. After changing out the power supply and then completely ordering a new SZ87R6, the sudden power offs persisted. But there was a pattern. I could format the drive and install the OS and it would be totally stable for awhile and then become completely unstable and then become unbootable. If I went around the SSD with say a Linux Live CD, the computer operated flawlessly. In addition, I ran CPU stress tests and Mem86 via bootable CD's and all ran great. I finally made the move to replace this drive with an EVO 850 and, thus far, it is stable as a rock. I'm not exactly sure why this SSD became so unusable, but it did. It may be a bad batch and I would be willing to send it to Crucial for analysis.
Overall Review: Never seen an SSD become unstable before and I looked at everything before coming to this conclusion.
Not compatible with SZ87R6

Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: See my review(s) RE: Shuttle SZ87R6. After extensive testing on 2 identical SZ87R6's, The WLAN card appears to cause sudden power shutdowns. This is with 201 BIOS.
Overall Review: I've never seen these symptoms before. I was afraid to update and flash the BIOS fearing a power off in the middle of flashing ! An Intel WLAN card has been ordered.
