Sheesh

Fan Controller Panel
Fan Controller Panel

Pros: PROS!?!?! This thing is worth it's weight in platinum. Get one you wont be upset that you did. Comes with extenders and mainboard splitters.

Cons: I dont have 6 more fans to justify buyiong another one. Might have to buy six more fans!!!

Overall Review: Depending on your box and mainboard you might need one more extender than is shipped with the controller but in my case (pun?) everything worked perfectly with the nForce 680i SLI from EVGA. Got North Bridge fan and CPU fan wired to channels 1 and 2, two chasis fans in an in/out config on the 4 and 5 and then I two more chassis fans (exhaust) hard wired to channels 5 and 6 and this is just cranking cool air when I flip 5 and 6 to high RPM. Make sure you change your fan settings in BIOS to manual to get the most out of this baby.

Sheesh

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Award BIOS is familiar interface with a lot of overclocking features. All this stuff about fans being disabled in BIOS and BIOS being flakey with no updated flash from EVGA ... well all my fans were set fine and if you check EVGA's site, they just released a new BIOS revision on 11/10/06 that's supposed to stablize the board and adds even more O/C features. Core 2 Duo E6600 and CORSAIR SLI ready memory went right in with stock timings and voltage.

Cons: Like people are saying I worried my Blue Orb II CPU cooler would not fit due to the North Bridge heatsink being so tall and close to CPU but if Zalman's Blue Orb fits almost anything should so dont be too concerned though mine is literally msehing with the NB Heatsink... ALMOST did not get it in. There was an imperfect pin in the CPU socket that was easily restored to perfections using a high powered magnifying glass/lamp and a needle. I think someone else stated that the manual SUCKED... they are right and the online references at EVGA'a site are even worse. Hope the update thier literature soon.

Overall Review: I can't wait to start O/C'n this board. Will be my first REAL attempt at an O/C and this board is awsome I built mine SLI head to nuts and put an ATI card in it... yes I said ATI and not just any old one, X1950XTX. Rumor has it there are some firmware and driver hacks that will allow you to run Crossfire on this board well aint trying that :) Also appears as if Nvidia might losen up and provide a new BIOS that supports it but then with the AMD/ATI acuisition who the hell knows where things are going to go. I am going to stick with ATI until it blows over, and we'll see...

Recap this

Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: A lot of room to work in the box, enough 5.25" drive bays + drive cage accomodates multiple RAID configuraitons, two opticals, floopy, fan controller, with bays to spare and even has a damned draw that you can relocate to any drive bay; you can relocate the power buttom assembly as well. This box has excellent air flow.

Cons: Four pin fan connected on stock fans. You will need to Molex converters and possibly extenders depending on your needs. A few people mentioned sharp edges and I laughed... I now have a bandiad on ... RAZOR SHARP!!! The tooless drive fasteners work OK but for those of you who like quite rigs then I would suggest removing them all together or at least fastening the drives with to the drive bay with screws. As many have stated, the tooless slot fasteners dont play nice with large graphics cards and will have to be removed. Lastly, be careful with your CPU colling system, depending on your mobo you might end up trading it in or cutting a support out of the chasis to fit it in there. Doors are a bit lame; they dont have magnets (box surface that they touch is plastic). This alone made me give it a 4 but IT'S SHOULD BE A 5!!!

Overall Review: I got a lot of laughs about the posts on the size thing if this thing. Another funny note is the doors... took me a while to figure out why they would do that and they are 'Armor' as the name intends, they help prevent objects from touching the face of the conmputer.
