Excellent!

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W None Integrated Graphics Processor - BX80562Q6600
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W None Integrated Graphics Processor - BX80562Q6600

Pros: Stays very cool; Easy to install - just snap it in and clip the fan on; 4 processors; Can overclock well; works well with Ubuntu Linux 6.10 and 4 processors recognized.

Cons: Price; Not recognized by CentOS Linux 4.4 and could not install CentOS, Could be motherboard problems.

Overall Review: Once I flashed my Asus P5B motherboard, it recognized the quad core and everything runs well. I overclocked to about 2.6GHz easily on stock fan. Runs about 30 degrees celcius on stock fan; Specs: ASUS P5B motherboard, ASUS Nvidia 6200LE video card, Corsair Value Select 4x1GB DDR2 RAM, Seagate 250GB SATA hard drive, Sony CD-RW, Netgear 10/100Mbps PCI network card.

Beware Linux users!

ASUS P5L-VM 1394 LGA 775 Intel 945G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5L-VM 1394 LGA 775 Intel 945G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Very compact and small because of the 2 PCI slots and 1 IDE connection. Fit in my X-QPack MicroATX desktop case with room to spare! Recognized my E6600 Intel Core 2 Duo processor with the correct settings. CPU is running about 40 degrees celcius with stock cooling fan. Comes with built-in VGA and audio.

Cons: As others mentioned, the NIC card does just die out. The only way to "activate" it is to go into the BIOS and load it up with the ROM booting, then reboot, then go back to BIOS and disable the NIC ROM booting. Very annoying! Yes, I did try clearing the CMOS, but same problem. Maybe future firmware will fix it. I am using BIOS version 4.04

Overall Review: After getting the built-in NIC card working, I fired up Ubuntu 6.06 and it does NOT recognize the NIC. So then I tried Ubuntu 6.10 and it still did not recognize the NIC card. It kept telling me to load a specific NIC module that may have been provided by the manufacturer (nope!). So I then tried CentOS 4.4 and it still did not recognize the NIC card! I just gave up with Linux distros and used a spare 10/100Mbps PCI NIC card I had laying around. That worked fine. Pay the extra bucks and get the ASUS P5LD2-VM motherboard (haven't tried Rev. 2). Linux was able to recognize the NIC card on it (Rev 1).

Works great

SUPERMICRO CSE-PT26L-B 4U Chassis Rail Kit - Bulk packaging -
SUPERMICRO CSE-PT26L-B 4U Chassis Rail Kit - Bulk packaging -

Pros: Easy to put together

Cons: N/A

Overall Review: My SuperMicro SC743 case fit perfectly into a 4U cabinet with this rail kit. A little tip: On the instructions where you need to slide out the inner rails, there is a little black sliding latch that you need to slide over to pull the rails apart. After that, then go ahead and start screwing the rails to your SuperMicro case.

Egg-cellent!

APRICORN ADW-USB-KIT IDE/PATA/SATA to USB HDD Adapter
APRICORN ADW-USB-KIT IDE/PATA/SATA to USB HDD Adapter

Pros: Works great to connect IDE, SATA, and laptop IDE (PATA). Easy to use - plug and play! The free imaging software (for Windows) is awesome!

Cons: Short power cable

Overall Review: I have tested this device on Windows XP, Linux (Ubuntu 6.06), and my Mac Leopard 10.5.2. The free Apricorn imaging software, which is like a stripped down version of Acronis TrueImage, works well. Not sure how they can give this software away for free, but it's worth it!

Good stuff

ADATA 16GB Class 6 Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model TurboSD SDHC 16G
ADATA 16GB Class 6 Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model TurboSD SDHC 16G

Pros: 16GB of memory, good speed

Cons: None that I can think of

Overall Review: Using it on my ASUS eee PC 8G. I have been reading/writing to it weekly and have even took it with me on a 10-day trip to Japan. Still working fine!

Excellent! Update the BIOS!

ASUS P5K-VM LGA 775 Intel G33 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5K-VM LGA 775 Intel G33 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Easy to put together and straight forward.

Cons: UPDATE THE BIOS! Does not support some of the new Intel Core 2 Duo or Quad core processor.

Overall Review: The computer kept rebooting randomly with my Intel Core 2 DUO E6550 CPU. I ended up flashing the BIOS, which now supports the E6550 CPU. No more reboots and CPU temperature is running in the upper 20's. Specs:Intel Core 2 Duo E6550, Kingston 2x1GB PC800 DDR2 RAM, Nvidia 7600GS PCIx16, Seagate 750GB SATA hard drive, Samsung SATA DVD-RW, Samsung 1.44" floppy drive. No overclocking for me.
