Big Black Box
Pros: Easy to build in if you read the instructions and notes from nMEDIAPC's web site. Four hard drive mounts have rubber bushing on mounting screws to reduce noise. Well ventilated. A good deal even with the extra $30 for the optional LED display.
Cons: nMEDIAPC's technical support page lists; CPU Heatsink height is <5.9" But there is only 5.9" space from the motherboard tray to the top of the case, so, after you mount your CPU and motherboard in the case, you only have about 5.25 inches from the top of your CPU to the top of the case! I had hoped to use a Thermaltake Silent 1156 92mm cooler, but it was a couple of mm too tall. Just the nubs on the heat pipes hitting the top of the case. One of the supplied 80mm fans was DOA, but I swapped all fans out with higher quality quieter ones and mounted an additional 120mm fan on the right side also. The HDD LED is very, very, dim due to being behind dark plastic. You do need to shim under the optical drive up to line it up with the cut-out. The screws come up from under the drive, not through the sides. I used some cut pieces of zip ties, but some vibration absorbing rubber would be a better solution.
Overall Review: As others have said, the P/S is a tight fit to the 80mm fans, so just remove the 80mm fans before mounting the P/S, then reinstall the fans. I filled this thing up with 6, 7200rpm 2T HDD's, a Bluray drive, a fanless video card, a Seasonic X650 P/S, 2 120mm Scythe fans, 2 Enermax 80mm fans and a Scythe Big Shuriken 120mm CPU cooler. The loudest thing in the case is the Bluray.
Used to be good.....
Pros: Many features, 3 user license
Cons: Many features are redundant to Windows 7. Limited number of installs, no mater if you renew your subscription year after year. Everything it does can be done equally well by other software or Windows for free. Upgrading from ver. 4 to ver 6 caused major a slow down of my system and spikes of high disk usage during periods of "optimization". Uninstalling nuked my system beyond repair, requiring a fresh install.
Overall Review: Why pay Norton when you can get a perfectly acceptable solution for free? (MS Security Essentials)
Pros: Nice looking display. solid build quality.
Cons: Some noise when using headphones, not noticeable in-game.
Overall Review: They must have listened to the feedback because the cables that came with mine are long enough for my Corsair 900D case with Maximus VII F motherboard. That's saying something because it's a huge case.
Big and quiet
Pros: Nice anti vibration silicon pads, good hardware included. Very quiet, perfect for my HTPC
Overall Review: A nice replacement PWM fan for my Scythe Big Shuriken CPU cooler. It's thicker than the Scythe fan, but I had room in my case. I was able to use the Scythe clips to fix it to the cooler. Seems to move a lot of air quietly.
