Can't beat G.Skill
Pros: Easy yo install and worked as expected. Adorable red casing
Overall Review: Use caution when picking the right slots. Asus and Gigabyte have their own color coding for channels. When you load it up for the first time use only one. Once you made necessary change to the BIOS then load the others.
The best TV tuner to watch HD TV across multiple TV's with lowest monthly cost
Pros: - Initial Setup - It was a breeze to set it up and start watching TV channels. The manual is good to follow the steps and get it done right the first time. - Speed: I have not seen any hicups or packet loss during watching or changing channels. Even HD channels flow around 8-9 mbps without any hicups.
Cons: Cable Card Setup: Although HD Home Run has nothing to do with this. Setting up cable card took lot of time and effort on my side and the cable company side to configure and it takes time. I had to go through the setup 4 times on the phone and 2 trips the technician made to my house to get it right. TV Support other than Windows Media Center: The included TV tuner for windows is not intutive and there is no out of box support for Mac unless you pay for a tuner software. Encrypted channels can only be recorded and played in one windows media center unless you use Xbox as extender. But this only applies to Showtime, HBO. Not a big deal because you have xfinilnty online app to view the shows on demand.
Overall Review: I was very impressed with my setup once complete. I'm using remote potato to schedule and watch TV from iOS devices. I'm using COMSKIP to automatically remove the commercials which works perfect. Have one DVR and truely share the files across my laptop, Xbox, Mac, iPad, iPhone. Literally every screen in my house can play recorded TV files...rather than sticking with old clunky set top boxes...! This is the future of TV...! and i forgot to mention that i lowered my monthly cable bill by $40 for the same set of channels I'm receiving now. I will never ever allow another set top box in my house...!!!
Excellent player for playing local content
Pros: When you want to play all local content stored in hard drives, external drives, USB and others this is the player out there. Plus it can store up to 1TB worth of content in there. This is worth the money than getting WD TV Live plus which is retailing @ $99 because of following reasons - 1 TB Notebook hard drive (No sound and less heat) - Component output - Enhanced UI - Ability to setup sync folders so that data is transferred automatically - Shows as shared drive in your windows PC to copy content - Plays literally any type of format including Blu ray ISO (What else you ask for...?) - Can even turn on/off the front bezel blinking LED - Fast firmware upgrades than WD TV live plus
Cons: UI is slow sometimes and it does not allow multi tasking... Not a big Con but if you have media stored in more than 1 computer then you need to connect to each computer to download/view the contents
Overall Review: Playing MKV flawlessly is one of my key requirement and this little puppy fulfilled it very well
I love this card and newegg community..!
Pros: Alright...When the time came to replace my 5 year old graphics card I did not look anywhere else. Couldn't take the eye of this card and the raving reviews. Thanks to the Newegg community and my fellow geeks for making my decision so easy. I popped the card right inside and was up and running in minutes
Cons: It is huge...! Had to make some room before popping it in...Again I'm replacing my 5 yr old card...So other components inside my case didn't like it first...
Overall Review: Value for money...When i looked at the invoice i paid for my previous card 5 years ago i couldn't believe i paid $250. For half the price, I could double the capacity.
Pros: I used it to replace my old busted Asus motherboard with this one for my Windows Home Sever. Was really stable once powered on with my Pentium D processor. Gigabit LAN is really a plus
Cons: No firewire...
Overall Review: While it takes Pentium D processor the memory should be 6400 or higher. I tried using 5300 since I have 4 of them sitting around but no luck!
