extremely happy
Pros: compact size and no additional power line required.
Cons: factory shrinkwrap was a bit stretchy to tear.
Overall Review: i believe this is the best bang-for-my-buck video card i've owned. powered only by the motherboard this baby kicks out a windows experience index number of 7.7 on an AsRock z77 board that sports a 3570k cpu. idle shows 35C.
find something else
Pros: it lit up
Cons: perhaps i need more experience but this motherboard has been one problem after another. downloading and installing drivers was new to me, as i'm used to having a disc to load drivers into the BIOS. loading windows 11 caused more problems. so many i wound up taking it to the geek store to get up and running. after a couple weeks the USBs i had my keyboard and mouse stopped working. i used other USB slots and the keyboard works now but this has proven to be the last straw for me. i'll be ordering an ASROCK board now. i will be avoiding ASUS in the future.
Overall Review: i cannot recommend.
mini mega memory
Pros: phenomenal amount of storage for the dollar!
Cons: not even one complaint here.
Overall Review: when ssd's first hit the market i was happy to spend $150 for a 128Gb unit. fresh installed into a NUC i5 mini. had to fish around to find the settings in Windows 11, but it's all good! would have been a good deal at twice the price
works fine
Pros: this is a nice low-to-the-flo cooler. this unit has a very low profile that leaves a lot of clearance for uninhibited air flow. i plopped it on an ASRock Z77 board that sports a 3570k cpu. easiest installation ever. i haven't overclocked it yet, but current idle temp is 42C with no case fans at all. (ordered some) so far, i am pleased with its performance.
Cons: the fan did bring me some concern at first. the fan screamed like a banshee while installing windows 7. it calmed down to a whisper after installation, and ever since.
Overall Review: it looks sassy on the motherboard!
fiddle faddle
Pros: handsome board. everything connected easily, and connections were easy to locate.
Cons: cpu-z http://valid.canardpc.com/3p6b3s i haven't been satisfied with this build. questionable performance from the first day. after fiddling with it for over a year i've decided to move on to another board. i am not an expert by any means so i'm not sure if the whole problem is the motherboard or the things that have blown i had installed on it.
Overall Review: i was extremely happy with my new build once i finally got it all together. boots were so fast i barely had a chance to enter the bios. i was doing fine when i realized i had missed a driver install. i don't recall which, though. anyway, since it was so early and i hadn't installed anything special so far, i decided to just start from scratch and reinstall Win7 and the whole works. i'm not sure what happened but after the second reload i lost my SSD. since all was new for the build i guessed i had a bad SSD and installed another. after a few more months my video card popped, and went dead. again, i'm not sure if it was the video card, or something that happened through the motherboard. this system functionality has been in a state of decay from day one, and i'm moving on. i'm going to send it back. they can do with it what they will.
meh
Pros: was nice while it lasted
Cons: only lived 6 months
Overall Review: lara croft killed it
