Great display, but has surface imperfections

SAMSUNG P2770FH ToC Rose Black 27" 1ms Full HD HDMI LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 70,000:1 (1,000:1)
SAMSUNG P2770FH ToC Rose Black 27" 1ms Full HD HDMI LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 70,000:1 (1,000:1)

Pros: -Large, huge even, screen. -Has multiple inputs and comes with D-sub to DVI-A cable -Thinner than and almost as light as the smaller LCD screen it replaced.

Cons: -Touch buttons for screen interaction are sometimes unresponsive. -When it goes to sleep, defaults to checking HDMI input and never checks the other inputs. You have to press input button several times. -Supplied cables are too short about 1m. Had to purchase longer cables. -Not wall mountable

Overall Review: My screen arrived with surface imperfections on the clear plastic surrounding the screen. Instead of perfectly smooth surface, you can feel and see dimples in the plastic. It doesn't affect function though. Don't play many games, but it seems to refresh really quickly. Would have liked a slightly taller stand, but that's my preference.

Most Critical Review

Wanted so much to love it

ASUS Laptop Intel Core i7 3rd Gen 3630QM (2.40GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M 15.6" Windows 8 N56VJ-DH71
ASUS Laptop Intel Core i7 3rd Gen 3630QM (2.40GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M 15.6" Windows 8 N56VJ-DH71

Pros: - i7 3rd gen quad core cpu (best available at the time I purchased) - gorgeous HD ips screen - good sound for a laptop (when subwoofer attached) - USB 3.0 for fast external hard drive transfers - non-Intel based wifi chip

Cons: Not entirely compatible with older versions of USB, some items that do function just fine on USB 2.0 only ports Not the best sub components used inside. - Memory module failed within 10 months of purchase and I will have to buy some high quality memory because Asus is unwilling to send me a memory module to fix it. - 5400 RPM hard drive (can we say "Choke Point"? - NVidia chipset isn't all that mindblowing Touchpad gives no physical indication where the left and right mouse buttons are. - Your hand will drift into a comfortable position and end up clicking on the right mouse button. - Mouse click buttons are read by the touch pad, so when you want to click on something, it jumps elsewhere. Not suitable for your lap! For me, idle temps are around 60 degrees Celsius Plastic bottom is flimsy over memory module area and has no reinforcement. (which might explain why the outer SODIMM was the one that failed) The hard drive cage is actually the support for one of the front feet! Not so bad if you use SSD, but if you hard drive spins, don't be surprised when it fails from damage related to "shock"

Overall Review: I know that this model has been discontinued, but I wanted to share what it's like after living with it for nearly a year, which many reviewers don't do. Warranty is absolute garbage. Send your $1000+ laptop in for a bad memory module? Asus has a terrible turnaround time for warranty repairs that I have experienced personally. Installed Crucial M4 256 GB SSD as soon as I got it. When it works, it is blazing fast! I like that the SD card is fully enclosed, so it won't catch on anything or break when you grab the laptop out of your bag.

You won't get what is advertised

DELL E6420 14.0" Notebook with Intel Core i5-2520M 2.50Ghz, 4GB Memory, 250GB HDD, DVDRW, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
DELL E6420 14.0" Notebook with Intel Core i5-2520M 2.50Ghz, 4GB Memory, 250GB HDD, DVDRW, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

Pros: i5 core dual processor cpu. HDMI and 4 USB ports (one shared with eSATA) magnesium case

Cons: Smaller hard drive arrived then advertised Previous owner obviously ate while he worked on this laptop as the crud under the keyboards was incredible. Coffee stains, sticky food on the outside and on the wrist area

Overall Review: It's always a gamble when going refurbished, but this one truly grossed me out. You can't do more than wipe the keyboard because there is an exposed circuit board mounted to the underside of the keyboard for the integrated pointer. Last time I will ever make this gamble.

Nice size, OVERHEATS!

GIGABYTE GB-BXI3H-4010 Black Mini-PC Barebone
GIGABYTE GB-BXI3H-4010 Black Mini-PC Barebone

Pros: small form factor i3 dual core cpu low power requirements arrived with latest F5 bios

Cons: Plain and simple: CPU overheats very easily. - Just running memtest86+v5.20, the cpu will hit 60 deg C after one pass and then freeze. Keep in mind, I haven't even installed a hard drive yet! When that gets put in, the system temps will be higher! - Sitting at idle in BIOS, system temp stays at 52*C and CPU at 51*C with the fan speed peaked out at 3600 RPM in a 26*C room with no obstructions to air flow - Wouldn't boot with a USB flash drive - Will not auto-refresh bios when a new USB device is plugged in (example: external DVD drive with boot disk or external hard drive) even when you exit the BIOS - When keyboard and external DVD drive are plugged into the back USB ports, the keyboard will be lost on successful start up

Overall Review: Shining a flashlight into the back vent where the fan blows out, you can see that it almost touches the top of the case, meaning that air flow is minimal or non-existent because the motherboard almost completely blocks the side air vents. I haven't decided if I'm going to return this or modify the case to provide the necessary air flow to cool the CPU. So far, I'm very disappointed at what was going to be my HTPC.

Poor wifi, already had to do factory restore

Motorola Moto G Boost Mobile No Contract Android Smart Phone
Motorola Moto G Boost Mobile No Contract Android Smart Phone

Pros: Gorgeous screen, fits in hand great, loud!

Cons: - Wifi is terrible. Constantly forgets WEP passphrase - Phone defaults to 3G even with strong wifi signal. - Poor visibility in medium sunlight with your body blocking the sun. - Less than 18 days after I received it, had to do a factory reset, just out of NewEgg's warranty period.

Overall Review: I had hoped to get Sprint's other sub carrier Virgin mobile to activate the phone, but they won't do it. Virgin's phone selection is poorer than Boost's. Now I'm stuck with the phone regardless. If you have Boost already, you're good. Otherwise stay away from this phone.

Extremely disappointed.

Asus K55A-XH71 15.6" LED Notebook - Intel Core i7 i7-3630QM 2.40 GHz - Mocha
Asus K55A-XH71 15.6" LED Notebook - Intel Core i7 i7-3630QM 2.40 GHz - Mocha

Pros: It arrived fast. It has USB 3.0 on it.

Cons: Missing a battery. The sticker covering the trackpad came off and I had to push it back on. But after a few clicks, the sticker would come loose again. You would think that Asus would be able to ship their products with proper QC. I called ASUS product support immediately and even got to a supervisor who was more concerned about contacting Newegg and getting my invoice number than helping me with getting a replacement for my missing battery. As it stands, I am stuck waiting for ASUS corporate to address this.

Overall Review: I wish this notebook series came with 4 USB ports. Regardless of how good the laptop might eventually be, I am extremely disappointed by the battery issue. If I could give a 0 review, I would have. I am considering never purchasing another ASUS product again after this fiasco.
