GREAT OVERCLOCK RESULT!!!
Pros: I performed a mix of Uningine Heaven Demo/MSI Afterburner (I am only using Afterburner because of the diagnostic abilities i.e: temp graphs, clock graphs, fan graphs, etc..) and the result is as follows: Core/Mem: 959 MHz @ 1125mV/ 1401MHz (completely stable and artifact-free with three runs of the Heaven Demo scoring 594 w 23.4 avg fps)(with below specs) But the AMAZING THING IS that while watching the pretty Heaven Demo I popped back out to Afterburner and during the 99% GPU usage, the core temp NEVER WENT ABOVE 64*C at this voltage!!! This card will last forever folks, and Sapphire's Vapor-X cooling technology is definitely worth investing the extra money in.
Cons: -None
Overall Review: Buy two for Crossfire and they are faster than one 5870 by far! Operating system: Windows 7 (build 7600) 64bit CPU model: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 550 Processor CPU flags: 3800MHz MMX+ 3DNow!+ SSE SSE2 SSE3 SSE4A HTT RAM: 3GB Gskill 1333 MHz DDR3 @ 9-9-9-24 HDD: Corsair Reactor Series 60GB SSD, [250MB/s,150MB/s] MOBO: ECS 790GXM-AD3 Black Series Render: DirectX11 Mode: 1600x900 AA: 4x Shaders: high Textures: high Filter: trilinear Anisotropy: 8x Occlusion: enabled Refraction: enabled Volumetric: enabled
DITTO
Pros: It works with USB 1.1 devices just fine. Ha!
Cons: The Plague; driver errors, incompatibility, low voltage problems... NONE of my USB 2.0 devices work with this card: are all USB HDDs. Power related because even only one at a time will not work. IO Device errors, Delayed Write Failed etc.
Overall Review: Not worth time and money to RMA. Sorry, Newegg, not your fault but please remove such a worthless item from your inventory.
Dead on Arrival
Pros: Looks nice.
Cons: Laptop dead on arrival. Have to pay for shipping for warrantied repairs.
Average, Sub-par, Not for Gaming.. Ever.
Pros: None.
Cons: This is a sub-par laptop with inadequate cooling, very low amount of RAM (4GB), a horrible OS, and unusable Crossfire graphics. -The cooling on this laptop is terrible; The laptop's APU(CPU+GPU) features Turbo Core, which automatically increases its speed when there is enough thermal overhead to allow it. Any games that require heavy CPU usage will eventually (sometimes within a minute) lower the clock speed to its normal state (1.8~1.9GHz). -The 4GB of RAM (1600MHz DDR3) that comes stock with this laptop is inadequate for gaming. -Windows 8.0-8.1 is horrible, even for mobile devices. The overall amount of clutter and inability to quickly access even basic programs (such as Calculator, Run, Search) is almost absurd. -The dual graphics that is advertised is not true "Crossfire", but a hybrid that is load balanced. This load balancing throttles the dedicated 8570 GPU to match performance of that of the integrated 8550, and as a result, lowers the overall performance of the graphics system. Low performance is due to both GPUs trying to maintain access to the system RAM. There is no way to disable the integrated GPU and solely use the dedicated GPU, which would be of greater performance result. The Catalyst software only allows for the dedicated GPU to be disabled.
Overall Review: -Investing in a second 4GB, 1600MHz stick of RAM is bittersweet. It does provide a 20~% increase in performance due to enabled Dual-Channel mode, but is bottlenecked by the high temperature outputs and inability to fully utilize the APU+GPU graphics system.
NEEDS AN 8-PIN ATX12V PSU CONNECTOR!
Pros: - Great price. - Nice and fast. - Great (and easy) overclocker, overvolter. (->5GHz, ->1.5(75?)vDC+o/v) - Lots of BIOS settings :-)
Cons: - Newegg's part specification doesn't say that you need an 8-pin ATX12V PSU connection. Make sure you get a power supply that is compatable!!! This ended up costing me more than I wanted to spend on a PSU that was compatable with this motherboard. :-( * NO TRIPLE CHANNEL DDR3 SUPPORT! (Look for a different board if you want your DDR3 to run in triple-channel mode.) * NO BIOS ACC SUPPORT FOR CORE UNLOCKING!! :-( (ECS will not support this.) * These were the reasons that I purchased this motherboard and I feel let down... I can do without either triple-channel DDR3 or not being able to unlock the extra cores on my new Phenom II X2 550.... But both?? I am let down by these facts and I should have done more research. Look closer at this board. Do your research people.
Overall Review: I want a better board.
Best 20" value!
Pros: -Great contrast ratio. -Fast response time. -No ghosting. -Monitor has a large viewing angle. -No dead/stuck pixels. -FREE SHIPPING!
Cons: -No HDMI, but at this price who cares?
Disappointed at Newegg, not Seller.
I remember the good ol' days where I could order something from Newegg, with standard shipping, and it was here literally next day or the day after. Gone are those days I guess. This saddens me. About the Seller: Great power supply. Shipping wasn't as fast as I expected [But to be fair the last time I shopped with Newegg it was the old speedy delivery].
