Pros: Purchased two drives. One drive was easy to install and set up.
Cons: The second had Smart error on boot up. Would spin up then stop and start clicking. I notice the Black model of drives appear to be cheaply built and feel a lot liter compared to the last ones I purchased a few years ago.
Overall Review: I would still recommend and purchase this drive for the 5 year replacement warranty. Although I just had a 500 Gig Black drive fail I purchased in 2011 so I just missed the 5 year window.
1 of 2 Nolonger boots to internal CPU video. Had to install PCIE card?
Pros: Fast easy to build great stability ?
Cons: "Bought two on 3/2/2019 build with Intel Core i7-8700 Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.2 GHz (4.6 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 65W BX80684I78700 Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630 and G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Desktop Memory Model F4-2666C19D-16GVR and new 1 TB western digital Blue Hard drives. simple builds. Used PCs about twice. Turn both on 04/23 and one will not boot with intel CPU video. Swapped CPUs same problem. One mother board will not boot with internal CPU video. I get two beeps and nothing. I installed a PCIE card mother board boots with no problem. Mother board has the issue. I updated to latest Bios same problem will not boot with on board CPU video. great CPUs new Cor I7 ???????"
Overall Review: Not sure if I would buy another one of the TUFF Series. I build three other build with 2 builds with ASUS ROG STRIX B250G GAMING LGA1151 DDR4 HDMI DVI M.2 Micro-ATX Motherboard with USB 3.1 and 1build with ASUS ROG STRIX B360-G GAMING LGA1151 (300 Series) DDR4 HDMI DVI M.2 Micro-ATX Motherboard absolutely no problems other than now booth boards are hard to find and buy.
Failed after a short wile.
Pros: Super fast Asus P7H55-M PRO , Gskill Ripjaws Series PCS 12800 4G memory, Sapphire 100292ddr3l Radeon HD 5450. Loaded Win 7 Alt 64, system ran fine. No overclocking.
Cons: Third day booted system no post. Swapped Mboard, memory and video card same problem. First intel processor to fail since 1994 when I build my first system 486 DX50. RMA replacement on the way.
Overall Review: Industry standard Intel, More for your money AMD.
Pros: I installed 5 out of 6 of these drives the six drive had majior problems.
Cons: I had to RMA the one drive it turned out to be DOA. I have had good look with Western Digital drives sine 1992 but the newer drives seem to be not as good a product as the Segate drives. At work I see Western Digitals drives fail but not the Segates.
Overall Review: I may have bought my last Western Digital hard drive.
