works well

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8000CL5D-4GBPI
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8000CL5D-4GBPI

Pros: works very well and they seem to be very responsive. right now i'm playing Fallout 3, and i know its not the most resouce hungry out there but it runs very smooth with ultra 1080i settings. and the heat spreaders do look nice, though i dont know if they actually work all the much...

Cons: non really, i had to manually set the timing and voltage. it ran fine at 800 and stock voltage, but i remembered that i had to set the clock higher and forgot about the voltage, and it would crash ever so often. with the right voltage though, it very stable.

Overall Review: i actually have these slightly overclocked to 1066...when i was ordering i wasnt paying close enough attention and bought the wrong speed for my m/b. funny thing is the 1066 version of these were actually cheaper at the time :( AMD 9950 Quad on a gigabyte ma790x ud4p m/b, these, visontek hd 3850

Its Awesome

Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply

Pros: i love this case, i use it as a HTPC/ gaming computer so it sits next to the tv stand. it looks very nice and fits well with the tvstand and tv. i personally like the little locks on it. the PSU works great so far, powers 4 HDDs, dvd burner, HD 3850 plus all the normal stuff and whatever is connected to my usb ports. very quiet case. it has only one 120mm fan but you can add a second one up front if you wish. removable airfilter (if you can call it that) is nice, though its more like a lint catcher from a dryer than a airfilter. keeps things pretty cool i think, around 35C with all stock cooling,

Cons: the only thing that i can think of really is that is seems that the front usb ports may be shorting out on mine. sometimes when i plug things into them it will totally crash my system, or at least crash the video card it seems. mostly notice it when i plug in my xbox360 controller in when playing. other than that it seems to work very well and looks very nice. oh for HTPC use the little blue lights (power and HDD) can be slightly annoying.

Overall Review: i would have gone with some sort of HTPC case as that is its main purpose but all those cases look so horrible, especially compared to this one. i actually got this for around $80 at a local store so i thought it was a sweet deal.

AVS Gear GP-IR02BK Vista 2 channel IR Remote Control
AVS Gear GP-IR02BK Vista 2 channel IR Remote Control

Pros: it works great for what it is like others have said before me. seriously 20 secs from plugging it in to using it (Vista). it is very responsive and works like it should. I like the button setup...they seem to be grouped logically together so its easy to learn for night use.

Cons: the things that would make this perfect: back lit keys, the ability to learn at least TV power... the manual included tells you about most of the buttons( mostly the ones that are no brainers like the play button) but like others have said it talks about other models ( havent noticed if it even specifies which models) that do other things...on the box, it hints of a back lit and rf version...and one that has limited learning...where is that one?

Overall Review: from what i could find...its the best 25 dollar remote out there for media center...

defective batch?

VisionTek Radeon HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 900213
VisionTek Radeon HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 900213

Pros: Price, seems to run cool, has been doing very well so far with no complaints...

Cons: had to return 2 cards before i got this one. the first one looked like it was a repack, strugged it off and put in my comp and there were artifacts and lines running down the screen...returned it, second one looked better initially, but installed that one, and same problem...at this point i'm wondering if its something else that went wrong, like the mobo or mem...bought another card from a local store and that card worked just fine...so i return the second one and receive my third one. they seemed to figure out cause this fired right up with no problems.

Overall Review: i bought this card because my brother has a 3870 by visiontek and that card impressed me for what it is and he has had his for over a year it seems...i did notice that my third card was older than the other 2, well the driver cd was older, like the other 2 were ver 8.11 and the one that worked was 7.24 or something like that...
