Great Phone, just a couple things away from being best in class

ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro, 5.5-inch, FHD IPS, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, Dual SIM, Unlocked Cell Phone, US/Canada Warranty, Pure Black (ZS551KL-S835-6G64G-BK)
ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro, 5.5-inch, FHD IPS, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, Dual SIM, Unlocked Cell Phone, US/Canada Warranty, Pure Black (ZS551KL-S835-6G64G-BK)

Pros: I've had this phone for a couple weeks and there's a lot to love about it. By far the fastest phone I've had, it's a true beast, and the memory management of the 6 GB of RAM is great. Definitely the best battery life I've ever had on a phone - it will easily stop the more popular flagships out there when it comes to battery. The camera is good, but the auto mode isn't the best. I like that Auto mode doesn't have a lot of post processing noise, but it leave colors darker than I prefer. If you want a truly spectacular picture, jump to Pro mode, adjust the settings manually, and this phone will rival the best on the market. The dual speakers are good, especially with voices and highs. I do wish they were a little better quality speakers that could handle mids and bass on music much better though. I absolutely love the look of the phone and the feel in the hand. The glass is a bit more of a gray, than a true black, and I like it much better than other black phones I've seen. The screen is top notch, gets really bright, and the responsiveness is outstanding. ZenUI is certainly different than other UIs I've used, but it's not bloated. The settings panel does take a little getting used to, but I love the customization that available with this UI. Signal and Reception is among the best I've ever had in any phone, and I think this may even beat my Huawei - which has been the reigning champion.

Cons: My biggest gripe with the ZenPhone 4 Pro is that they don't have VoLTE in America or Wi-Fi calling. This means you can't access T-Mobile's Band 12 network. I wasn't aware of this before I bought the phone, and honestly, for a company like Asus to try to break into the North American market without supporting basic cellular functions that $100 Chinese phones support is just plain sad and lazy. Aside from the obvious and huge miss on VoLTE and Wi-fi calling, the main items that keep this phone from being the best in class are: - Sub standard Speakers. They get really loud, especially with highs, but they're lacking in the mid range and lower octaves, and the speakers don't really sound that great on Music overall. - A headphone jack that have too low of an output. - A camera Auto mode that leaves pictures too muted and colors too subdued. - The stock gallery app has a great layout, but it doesn't recognize all my video file formats. I had to do with F-Stop just to see all my files. - Missing some standout software features. It's great that Asus cut all the bloat out of ZenUI, and their Twin App and Page Marker are really good additions, but in order to stand out in the sea of "same same" Android market, I'd really like to see them add some unique software features like HTC did with Blinkfeed, Sony's done with the Walkman music player, or Huawei's done with Alexa integration.

Overall Review: Kudos to Asus for going up market and creating a true flagship phone worthy of being mentioned with the big dogs. But without support for T-Mobile's full network with VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling, a failure with the dual speakers, and a couple of sub par software misses, they'll never truly break into the North American market with this one. Maybe next time.

Pros: Great Hardware specs, extremely quick wireless, nice screen resolution and coloring, solid build, runs cool, great price.

Cons: Keyboard has way too much flex, charging adapter gets fairly warm (probably a cheaper part), screen should be able to tilt back a little more, keyboard keys collect fingerprints.

Overall Review: I sold my $1300 Lenovo for this $650 Acer since I just wanted a multimedia laptop for home. Battery Life is a bit over 2 hours working which is better than my 9cell Lenovo. I don't understand the people who say this laptop runs slow or hot. My first "stress test" with it had 16 different windows open and 7 Firefox tabs including 2 streaming videos and some advanced image manipulation with The GIMP. The system did not slow down a bit. The fan was on it's lowest setting for about 10 minutes under this load before going slightly elevated (barely audible), but never went above that. I then put LinuxMint on and the laptop runs slightly hotter on Linux due to the older version of the Kernel not having the newest AMD Puma and ATI drivers yet. All other drivers worked perfectly. Cons: The keyboard has way too much flex in it for me. The screen doesn't tilt back very far due to hinge limit. Doesn't come with Bluetooth but should (I will add the hardward adapter soon) CANNOT BEAT TH
