Works Great--2012 Macbook Pro

OCZ Agility 4 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) AGT4-25SAT3-512G
OCZ Agility 4 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) AGT4-25SAT3-512G

Pros: Big speed upgrade for all apps, good price when on sale, big capacity, supports TRIM, reliable so far

Cons: None

Overall Review: Put the drive in a USB enclosure first to format it and make sure it was not DOA. Then installed it and did an internet recovery of OS 10.8, then used Disk Utility to do a block restore from my old boot disk (now in the USB enclosure). All seems great. I ran the Chameleon TRIM utility afterwards. Not all SSD's support TRIM, but the OCZ 4 is one that does. All of my former apps are now really fast--at least 5x faster. Photoshop/Bridge and MS Office 2011 are all very zippy (Office for Mac is a real dog when it comes to disk access, so the large SSD really helps it a lot.) Even games (eg Doom 3, Bioshock, etc..) load up immediately. This drive is about 30% slower than some top end units (like the Vertex family), but it was a lot less expensive, and as far as I'm concerned it has erased the bottleneck that was my HDD.

Fast but unmounts drives when computer is asleep

HooToo HT-UH004 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 7-Port Hub + 1-Port 5V/2A Charging Port, Include 5V/4A Power adapter and USB 3.0 Cable

Pros: Small, good form-factor

Cons: Unmounts during sleep

Overall Review: It just plugs in and works with my Macbook Pro (2012). With 4T western digital drives, I was seeing about 140-150MB/s transfer rate which is pretty much the practical limit for those drives (I don't think USB3 can do much better anyway.) Same whether I plug directly into my Macbook pro or through the hub. So it definitely passes the speed test. Unfortunately, when the computer sleeps, the disk drives get unmounted (which is not a problem I see if I plug them directly into the computer or use my USB2 hub). So when the machine wakes back up, I see the warnings that disks were removed improperly. I'm going to exchange it and hope that fixes the issue. I'll adjust my rating up or down depending on the outcome of that.
