Pros: Good thick cord with both 3 and 4 prong connector, though it's short. Installation was easy and the fans are more quiet than the cpu and gpu fan. Temps never go above 55C underload with this and the new artec cpu cooler.
Cons: Outside of the short cords and the fact the wires don't allow to daisy chain not much to complain about.
Not that great
Pros: Great software Easy Installation Very small form (good if you don't want the card to block your gpu fans.
Cons: Despite intel including a great antenna it's made useless by the fact the signal strength max for the card is dependent on your router/modem. One should get the full effect without having it be dependent on the modem/router from your isp which is not always optimal. As result of this problem I do not recommend this if you have to deal with interference. These two problems combined will make the card just like any cheap typical wireless card that can be gotten for much less and have better signal strength. I docked two eggs for these two issues. Next issue to mention soley comes from experience with other intel cards both ethernet and wireless. This card lacks features that one can disable/enable in the device manger that are really needed for wireless when things aren't working right. You cannot change the preamble. You cannot change the rts or fragmentation threshold which when intereference happens is the best way to deal with the issue.
Overall Review: Not worth buying unless it's on sale and it's dirt cheap. Can't stress my last con enough. I don't think anything at the price they charge for these wireless cards should have less features than one can find on a cheap onboard wireless chip.
Update to old review
Pros: The fans do push a lot of air, can't say much after that as there is little special about the design or the quality of it.
Cons: My main beef and it can't be stress enough is overall quality. One of my fans broke on installation. Another of mine after a few months broke cause the wire was filmsy and came off when I switched it to another spot. If the fan blades were higher quality as well as the wires I wouldn't be making complaints.
Overall Review: No I do not wish rma fans this cheap considering shipping will cost as much as the fans did.
Does what it advertises
Pros: Works without very little effort. Better for gaming than any wireless combination I've had to use for years. Very small and will only take up one space.
Cons: Outside of a pass through plug can't think of any. Didn't test for throughput since this isn't for file transfer just net and unless you have a ton of download you won't be maxing it. If you have fiber or something 50Mbps get something in the 500Mbps range but they are pricy.
Overall Review: Really did wonders to make my ping stable compared to normally where Iuse wireless.
Pros: Will run just about any game that is out today and with a decent GPU most should have no problem getting 60fps plus or 1080p. Running an oced gtx 460 at 1ghz so I can't vouch for performance above but benchmarks above 1080p with high end cards show it's can be just as good as an I7 in games.
Cons: You need a real cpu fan and the evo 212 should help most. I'm docking this processor 1 egg and the lack of k. COming from C2D setups this wasn't an issue of concern and it should be made more clear considering you can't return processors. Next time I will check more throughly at certain brand distinctions but those two issues knocked it down.
Overall Review: Despite it not being a k with a good motherboard it can be pushed to 4ghz plus which is enough for most. Unless you're going to push this to 5ghz or higher like extreme types can there is not much gain in having it at 4.2-4.4ghz vs 4.5-4.8ghz. This processor is solid at stock but if you can push it just a little it becomes amazing and can take i7 processors in anything except multi threaded task coded for multi cpus and threads.
Old but pretty good for teh mid range
Pros: Really solid if you game at 1080p or below I don't cause I prefer performance over eye candy, but it does handle several newer games like crysis, witcher, skyrim, and metro very well. Can OC to about 1GHZ, though you need to overvolt and watch temps. I got 1GHZ on 1.15-1.188 through bios modding. This can easily compete with 560 Ti in some benches I've seen at this speed.
Cons: Not a true GTX 460 wish like my intel processors I was smart enough to spot difference, but I can max this card out V1 GTX 460 owners rarely break 900 or 800mhz on their cores. Wish the shroud around the card was higher quality or had better air flow.
Overall Review: Overall evga you have been as good as sapphire and asus have been to me look forward to buying more stuff I can push with little effort.
