Performance is pretty poor.  When I tried the Windows 8 that came with the laptop, performace was bad.  For example, I would double-click the control panel icon, then wait 30 seconds before the system does anything.  To make this matter worse, there is now HDD, so I would have to put my ear against laptop to tell of the system was workign or frozen.  Two gigs ram is not enough for Windows, they should have given it 4 gigs (or at least allow you to upgrade the RAM).

I dumped Windows and installed Ubuntu 14.04 (a Linux distroy with a desktop that is touch screen-freindly), and it performs much better.  However there is a point if too many applications are open the system started freazing.

The issue is a combination of low amout of RAM and the HDD being very slow.  With only 2 gigs for RAM the system runs out of working memory very easily,  when that happens computers will swap information with the HDD.  If the HDD was pretty fast (e.g. with a SSD) then the system performance is not too bad, but if the HDD is extremely slow the system will pause alot.
