I’m sure it’s a great cooler... however

Pros: Can’t effectively give any pros for this one, as it won’t securely fit my ASUS AM4 motherboard.

Cons: First off, this cooler appeared in a search for “AM4” coolers, details of the product even said so. Well, it’s not, upon trying to install it, the hardware included isn’t compatible. Doing some reading via the web, I found that they were releasing an AM4 bracket for the cooler. Corn Electronics promptly sent me one for free. Next issue is that the back plate isn’t tight against the board after tightening the screws. There needs to be a spacer (not included) to keep the plate snug against the board. Call me crazy but letting a 100 dollar cooler potentially damage my 700 dollar CPU/board doesn’t seem like a good idea.

Other Thoughts: Thankfully the cooler that AMD decided to package with their Ryzen 2 chips is solid!

Pros: 1. Fans are easy to maintenance.
2. The impellers are Detachable.
3. Has eight heat pipes
4. Included a fan hub
5. It's a double heatsink
6. two fans 120mm and 140mm
7. Keeps my i7-6800k @4.1 1.225v idle at 33°c package 0#core 26°c 1#core 26°c 2#core 26°c 3#core 26°c 4#core 26°c 5#core 26°c.
8. loads temps package 55°c rest are 49-55°c
9. Braces for the fans are flimsy to make it easier to put the fans on.

Cons: 1. Fans are loud
2. Could have better fans on it
3. will it fit.
4.Has some weight will bend you're motherboard breaking solder points if you don't hold it with both hands.
5. Blocks ram slots.

Other Thoughts: Might replace the fans with DEEPCOOL TF120 RED but DEEPCOOL Gamer Storm GF 140 Red PWM seems eh is it worth it nope it's not DEEPCOOL Gamer Storm GF 140 Red PWM ugly cable not braided but i want better more quieter fans on this cooler

This cooler is a BEAST

Pros: Pretty easy to install.
Keeps CPU very cool.
Looks amazing in the case.

Cons: It's very large.
Braces for fans are flimsy, like bent paper clips.

Other Thoughts: I really like this cooler. It was a breeze to install. The instructions were easy, but I found a 46 second video on YouTube that explained it clearer. It is rather large, I have less than a CM of space between the cooler and my GTX1080 card. I even installed it on an ASUS MAXIMUS VII EXTREME, and it was a really tight squeeze. But, all in all, it's working well. Did I mention it looks amazing in the case?

Good CPU Cooler

Pros: Well made and easy to mount with hardware options.
2 x 120mm fans and 23 large radiators keep the CPU cool under load.
Does its job.

Cons: Gigantic. It is tall, so need to watch overall case depth. I have a Antec 1200 which has a window on the side and a mount for a 120mm fan. Standard 25mm depth fans push up against the radiators and prevent case closing.
Depending on the RAM you get with or without heat spreaders, on my GB Z170X board, the front fan extends over the RAM slots. If you have spreaders on your RAM you'll need to remove the front fan. The 120mm between the radiators works fine.

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend it. Its as good as the Zalman CNPS10 (thought that was big too) and hopefully it will last as long.

Deepcool Assassin II

Pros: +
The Assassin II is designed for near silent operation and efficient thermal cooling, this cooler definitely lives up to its name.

Heatsink features:
• Twin asymmetrical cooling towers.
• 8 Nickel plated copper heat pipes
• Mirror polished nickel plated copper base

Fan features:
• nearly silent operation at lowest fan speed (rated at minimal 300 RPM for both fans)
• Anti-vibration rubber coating.
• Anti-vibration rubber mounting holes.
• Fluid Dynamic Bearings (FDB) grant smoother, lower noise operation
• Removable Fan impellers for easy blade cleaning, and bearing oil lubrication access for extended life.
• 140mm fan rated to 70CFM, with noise levels ranging from 17.8 to 26.5dB
• 120mm fan rated to 68CFM, with noise levels ranging from 17.8 to 27.3dB
(I could not find information covering the static pressure data)

The build quality of the fans really impressed me, and I really like that the impellers are detachable. Having access for bearing lubrication down the road should I need it was a really nice surprise. They run nearly silent at low speed and push a lot of air.

The fan mounting clips are not complicated and are easy to use, just hook the ends to the fan mounting holes, fold into the cooler mounting grooves, and you’re all set.

Included PWM fan hub to accommodates up to 4 PWM (4 pin) fan connectors and connects to a single 4 pin PWM motherboard fan port. (The motherboard I am using has 2 4pin PWM CPU fan ports, so I didn’t need to use this hub)

Includes enough mounting hardware for compatibility with most processor alignments:
Intel LGA 2011v3/ 2011/ 1366/ 1156/1155/ 1151/ 1150/ 775.
AMD FM2/ FM1/ AM3+/ AM3/ AM2+/ AM2.

Cons: -
The only real con I found with this cooler was during installation, in order to attach the cooler to the mounting bracket for socket 2011v3, you will need a long neck Phillips #1 to reach the mounting screws between the two massive fin towers, as the height required is longer than the average screwdriver shaft. I was lucky enough to have several extensions for a multi-bit screwdriver on hand.
(you should factor the height of the cooler as the minimal length needed for the shaft of the screwdriver)

Other Thoughts: ~
build specs:
• Intel 5820k (LGA 2011v3).
• Gigabyte X99 motherboard.
• Antec formula 7 nano diamond thermal compound (warmed before application).
• 4x4GB DDR4 ram.
• Fractal Design R4 Case.

This is a massive cooler, so make sure your case can accommodate the dimensions. I think a good place to start is to determine if your case can accommodate rear or front 140mm cooling fans, if your case only supports 120mm fans, then you may be out of luck. A measuring tape still should be used just to make sure you have clearance before purchasing any large air cooler.
Overall dimensions are: 143X158X167mm, (approximately 6.57 inches tall from the socket).

The fans come pre-mounted to the cooler, in my installation it was necessary to remove the fans when attaching the cooler to my motherboard. This is a good time to observe how the clips attach to the fans and cooler towers, just to familiarize yourself with the intended clip layout.

The motherboard I am using has 4 PCI-e x16 lanes, using the first PCI-e slot there was about ⅛” clearance from the cooler tower to the back plate on my graphics card. This was fairly close for my taste, so I just placed my graphics card in the 2nd PCI-e x16 slot. Keep in mind graphics card real estate is pretty tight on most X99 boards that have 4 PCI-e slots, so proximity shouldn’t be an issue with mainstream boards that typically have 2 or 3 PCI-e slots.
I am using 4 sticks of RAM with my board which has 8 total slots, so in this configuration there are 2 sticks on either side of the CPU. With this build I had to mount the RAM before attaching the Assassin II cooler, as once the cooler is mounted it obstructs access to the slots closest to the front of the case, interestingly enough the back side slots are unobstructed by the cooler. I am using standard height profile ram sticks, but it appears there is enough clearance for larger heatsink RAM like ripjaws.
(to be fair 1.2V DDR4 RAM doesn't even need heatsinks as it runs cool, higher voltages would however)

Because of the large size of this cooler you should take care when moving your case around. I am more concerned with the leverage force due to the height of the cooler rather than the raw weight when moving my case around. If I were to transport this build across town, I would likely find a way to creatively secure the cooler with zip ties to my case.

This cooler has performed absolutely flawlessly during my testing, and exceeded my expectations when it came to performance and build quality. Running the fan at the lowest, quietest speed, temps stay around 33ºC at idle and jump to 55ºC while under 70% load using Handbrake, and typically around 45~50ºC when gaming. This is with a mild overclock of my processor to around 500MHz over spec, and I didn't see the need to increase the fan speed with this range of temperature stability. Typically you won't see temps lower than the ambient room temperature with air cooling.
I can say confidently the target audience for this cooler is people looking for silence, and enough thermal overhead for some mid range overclocking. Sure you could squeeze out some more temperature drops by increasing the fan speed, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of this cooler; the fans are designed for low speed and silence.

I would absolutely recommend this cooler to anyone looking for a silent cooling solution. 5 Eggs

Pros: -Deepcool rubber fans are one of the best fans on the market.

Cons: -Deepcool logo is upside down on one of the tower.
-Came open box no seals.
-Item seems to be dirty with glued finger prints on it and scratches, impossible to clean that.
-Price is too high according to temperatures i see in reviews and how dirty the unit was, it's unacceptable.

You're gonna need a bigger boat! (I mean case)

Pros: This thing is HUGE! I didn't realize how big this thing was until I opened it up for myself. I'm glad I have a Thermaltake GT-10 case to handle it. But I did notice that it keeps the CPU quite cool even under stress from gaming.

Cons: The only thing that was a draw back for me was the page shows that it's compatible with LGA 1151, but the product itself doesn't have instructions or any kind of mention for LGA 1151. But it's easy enough to just follow the 1150 instructions. And I don't want to drop the rating for that. It still looks cool and runs well.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this, but you need a very large case to hold it!

Large,But Effective

Pros: Eight direct heat pipes.
Two Heatsinks
Two large fans
Nickle plated base to avoid corrosion
Very quite when at idle.

Cons: Somewhat loud at full load
Less expensive than some Noctua products.
Huge, trouble fitting in most cases.

Other Thoughts: Compared to my older Phanteks cooler, this one managed to drop my CPU temp by roughly eight degrees. Granted, this cooler is much larger, which gives it a clear advantage. This cooler certainly isn't for everyone, however, as it is simply enormous. I have several large ATX PC cases, and it doesn't fit inside of any of them. The only way I could test it, is to mount it with the side-panel off the PC case.

While the cooler is clearly well designed and works wonderfully, users need to be very careful that it will fit inside of their system. If it does, then it is the best high-end air cooler you can buy from a price/performance standpoint. Unless your system is exceptionally large, however, you will need to consider a smaller cooler.
