It is WD's standard "green" drive, in a retail box. So it will be exactly like the WDBH2D0020HNC which they sell for less money without the box.

the av-gp version you ask about is designed for always on video applications, like a dvr (digital video recorder, ie tivo, or home security camera system.)

as far as being compatible, either drive would work in any application for a 2tb sata hard drive.  If it is going into a dvr, I'd chose the av-gp.  For a regular pc, you can save a few bucks, and maybe even get better performance with the standard green drive, (WDBH2D0020HNC) which has a higher maximum throughput rating.
