Can I mount a DVD Burner with ATX Power supply in this case?

Yes, it just the case is very tight (mini tower). Watch you hand from sharp edges.

Is the usb 3 port really located on the right side of the rig?

Yes it is.  Sucks if your computer is set to the right side of the desk.  No other problems though.

I need a cheap case for an office or home, just regular p/c.   Will this fit the bill?   are the fans quiet?   thanks

This case will definitely work for you. I bought 2 and both are still good after a couple of years. 1 is still in use as a regular/light gaming PC and the air flow is good but the other I upgraded to higher end gaming rig which the newer bigger/longer GPU's do not fit in this.

Will this case fit a standard ATX mobo?

You will not be able to fit a Standard size atx board in this case designed for micro atx boards. This case is already very crowded for a mATX board.

Question 5

Is the SSD mounting plate* removable?  I'd like to do without it for use of a longer gfx card.
*The vertical "wall" that runs from the drive cage to the bottom of the case.

Yes four screws hold that in place.  You unscrew those four screws you can remove that drive cage.  You can still put it back over your graphic card if you want.  Or use the one that is on the other opposite wall for mounting.  I usually just remove that piece as it gets in the way.  So short answer. . . yes you can remove it.

It looks as if I can put a fan on the side, if so what size fan can I use?

Have this case and I put a 120mm fan on the side panel-fits good.

Question 7

Does this tower allow the use of smaller motherboards? I'm mainly wondering if it has the screw holes for a mini-ATX mobo.

I would not recommend this case even though screwholes are not a problem. Unless you have an ultra short motherboard it goes under the 3.5" tray and thus power, SATA and other wires must be in place before fitting the board. The 3.5" bay is too close to the board and I couldn't fit a normal hard drive without fouling board components. A quality braided cable power supply restricts the air flow. Eventually I had to use an ECS H87 motherboard, a cheap non braided power supply and two 2.5" drives hung from the top of the hard drive bay. Smaller HTPC cases with better top access are much easier to work on. This case could have been considered well designed, if it was an inch deeper an inch wider but it was a mistake for me as it was so restrictive. I have more powerful desktop and since purchased a $100 Ainol Mini PC (like a small screenless tablet) connected to the TV for home theatre. I used this case and mobo with a Pentium CPU as a Windows 10 testbed but, by a strange coincidence, gave it away yesterday  to a youngster.(few people buy desktops these days). OK case for a basic HO/HT PC  but too much trouble and not worth the effort as your options are so limited.

Do the two included case fans have four or three pin power connectors?

I just opened my new case:  Here is what is shipping right now re: case fans.
Both case fans have a combination Molex and 3-pin motherboard plug.  This means the fans cannot be speed controlled by software.  So, I will replace the fans.  I wish I'd known this a priori because I could have included quiet 4-pin fans in my order.  Attention NewEgg.

how do I install an ssd in this case?

You can mount it vertically using the 4 holes on the bottom of an ssd drive to the mounting plate that you would use for a 3.5" horizontal install

Are the built in fans controlled by a fan controller? There is a button with a spin arrow and I don't know what it does.

That button is a reboot button, a lot of gaming cases have those now for some reason I don't quite understand.
