The DJI Phantom 1.1.1 Quadcopter kit includes a Quadcopter 1, a GoPro Camera Mount (camera not included), and a remote control unit (four AA batteries are needed). The GoPro Camera Mount can accept a GoPro or similar camera. Shooting high above the ground gives you intriguing viewing angles. Use the remote control to instruct the Quadcopter 1 where to fly. Your control signals are transmitted to the Quadcopter 1 at 2.4 GHz (ISM) frequency*, and can reach a distance of up to 300m in ideal flight environments. The Quadcopter 1 can reach speed of 10m/s horizontally and speed of 6m/s vertically.
The Quadcopter has a Naza-M V2 + GPS multi-rotor autopilot system which uses GPS for navigation and to maintain flight stability. You can choose from two GPS-assisted flight modes: Attitude mode and GPS flight mode. In GPS flight Mode, the Quadcopter 1 will stay hovering at a fixed horizontal and vertical position even in the event of wind gusts. It is great for video shooting. The Attitude Mode is a more manual flying mode in which the Quadcopter 1 will not stay in a fixed spatial position. As with other modes that rely on Naza-M V2, to work Return to Home requires proper calibration and connection to more than four GPS satellites. The Naza-M V2 autopilot system also prevents your multi-rotor from crashing or other harmful consequences caused by low battery voltage. The included battery can support up to 10-15 minutes of flight time.
Warning: *Never use the DJI Phantom Quadcopter 1 with your GoPro camera when both devices have their Wi-Fi systems turned on. This may result in loss of property or damage to your equipment.

Stable yet agile performanceThe Phantom Quadcopter 1 features an integrated flight dynamics system, and a Naza-M V2 + GPS multi-rotor autopilot system. Flight parameters and functions have been set up before delivery, and the proven stability of the Naza-M V2 autopilot system allows you to easily achieve optimum flight performance. Its maximum horizontal flight speed reaches up to 22 miles per hour, while the maximum vertical speed is 20 feet per second. The perfect combination of speed and stability ensures it’s an excellent tool for aerial photography.
Two flight modesThe Phantom Quadcopter 1 has two GPS-assisted flight modes for you to choose from. GPS Mode is the most automatic. In GPS Mode, the Quadcopter 1 will stop as soon as you release the controls, and will stay hovering at a fixed horizontal and vertical position. This setting is the easiest to fly and is generally preferred for shooting video as the Quadcopter won't drift or be as susceptible to wind gusts. The Attitude Mode is a more manual flying mode in which the Quadcopter 1 does not try, and maintain a fixed spatial position. When you release the controls, it will continue to drift unless friction slows it down, or you stop it. In this mode, the Quadcopter will be susceptible to wind gusts.
Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC)IOC is designed to help make flying more intuitive. Nominally, the yaw control will allow the Phantom to rotate continuously, which can quickly become confusing if you lose track of which way is "front." Suddenly your controls can get mixed up, where pressing right causes the craft to move left and pressing forward causes it move backward. Intelligent Orientation Control prevents this from happening, keeping the "tail" of the Quadcopter pointed roughly toward the pilot at all times. To enable IOC, you will need to use the Naza-M V2 Assistant Software.
Improved TransmitterThis product contains a remote control transmitter and receiver for the ultimate convenience. The controller draws power from readily available four AA dry cells. The 2.4 GHz (ISM) frequency makes the effective control distance up to 984.25 inches (300m) in ideal flight environments (it may be lower in certain flight environments). The frequency-hopping, anti-interference design allows multiple remote controllers to work at the same time, and provides a reliable remote communications link. Both control sticks on the new transmitter spring to the center. The last addition is a pre-installed gimbal (not included) tilt lever. (*Many Wi-Fi systems, including the Wi-Fi used on GoPro HERO cameras, also operate on 2.4GHz and may interfere with the transmitter. Take care to ensure the GoPro's Wi-Fi is turned off with operating this quadcopter.)
Failsafe & auto go home/landingIf the Phantom Quadcopter 1 loses the signal from the controller for any reason, the "return to home" feature will initialize. The aircraft will ascend to 60 feet, and then make a straight-line course back to the "home position" specified during GPS calibration. Once home the Quadcopter 1 will safely descend to the ground and power itself off. As with other modes that rely on Naza-M V2 to work, the “Return to Home” feature requires proper calibration and connection to more than four GPS satellites.
Low Voltage ProtectionThe Phantom Quadcopter 1 offers two levels of low voltage protection, a function of the Naza-M V2 autopilot system. It prevents your multi-rotor from crashing or other harmful consequences caused by low battery voltage. In the first level of protection, the included LED indicator blinks red to warn you. In the second level protection, the system will trigger the Phantom to land automatically.
