These batteries clam to be rated at 1.5V. NiMH batteries are normally considered to be rated at 1.2V. Is there any documentation that these batteries can maintain a higher voltage discharge profile or is the 1.5V rating just marketing hype?

According to manufacture specs, these are indeed standard 1.2V NiMH. No magical tricks here.
