ECS N2U400-A 462(A) NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: this board is why i try to stay away from Nvidia chip sets when running AMD { ATI } video cards im just not a Nvidia fan.

Cons: not a real good main board it works but its not impressive it still works its in a system in my office but its weak in the features department.

Comments: I had an oddball CPU (Athlon xp 2900+ FSB400 Barton) left over from the purchase (not from newegg) of a motherboard combo deal that didn't work -- got this board, plugged the processor in & fired it up -- not a single problem -- haven't even bothered to update bios -- works great. This appears to be a great unit, especially when the price is considered. I will definitely consider ECS products for future purchases.

Comments: I just purchased this mobo at another e-tailer and haven't fired it up yet. My experience with ECS has been good in the past and I'm sure it will be fine with this one. I got it because it shares a similar chipset as my previous board the 8RDA+ by Epox. I know it's better but in the interim, before I get AMD 64 I wanted this becuase it has 8x AGP and the 8RDA+ only has 4x. As for "oLd YeLLoW cHeEzE" question regarding the multiplier you should only have to set the System Performance to "Expert" and then you can change the multipler settings. Expert setting allows full customization of the performance options on the mobo according to the manual.

Comments: nothing amazing, but a very good board for the price... i'd buy it again if i were to do it over..

Comments: Can't ask for a better board for a moderate user. Even for the advanced user it has many features in the BIOS. Overclocking the Processor even latency timers for the RAM if wnated. For the price of this board you cannot go wrong. And NEWEGG huh where can you get a faster more reliable dealer. Got it quicker than expected. Orderer on Friday night about 11:30pm no advance anything regular shipping and I was putting everything on this board Tuesday after work.

Comments: I used to be skeptical of ECS's products(they used to put them in Compaq PC's when I worked there 3yrs. ago). But is seems they are trying to really get the enthuseist crowd to turn some heads, I got this Motherboard to replace my old socket A KT133A chipset that died after 5 years :( Picked up a Gig(2X512mb) of DDR400 from newegg's refurb outlet($40 bux) and presto! The packaging is not much to look at. But the Purple PCB and color coded components make for a good entry-level motherboard. The BIOS is kinda wimpy it would be nice if some of the settings I have come to take for granted were there... Where are you CPU multipier?!?! Other wise you can't beat the price!

Comments: I bought two of these. What it is: good quality, stable as a rock MB at a bargain price What it isn't: Loaded with a bunch of extras you don't need.Very much NOT Overclocker friendly
