Question 1

Can it be used outdoors (nyc weather) in the cold?

I don't think the cold would be a problem as long as it doesn't get damp. My experience with this camera has been awful though. Wireless range is a few feet and the on-line viewing never works for more than a few minutes. I had this replaced with another that does the same. The company advised me to upgrade the firmware, so after wasting more time it still works the same. I earned my living as a computer tech, including networks, so I know the steps for properly setting these up. I have several cameras, and this brand is the only one I had major problems with.

Question 2

Does the motion capture take more than 1 picture frame to send in an email (Dlink takes 6 pictures 0.5-1 second apart)?  Or is it only a single frame?

We have not used that feature , I will say that the unit often loses connection to the modem and needs to be reset which is annoying.

Question 3

Does anyone know if this will work an Alarm(dot)com or CPI Security system?

You can make it vibrate your cell if there is movement and you can manually take snapshots. I believe you can make it take movement snapshots too but haven't gotten that to work yet.

Does this unit come with Mac OS 10.6.8 compatible software?

The original installed OS was version 10.9.2, and it can be upgraded for free to the current 10.13 High Sierra.
