What's the inner pot made for? Aluminum? I assume it's only stainless steel outside?

Yeah only the outside is stainless steel. The inner pot is aluminum, but it is coated with a non-stick surface. I've had this cooker for nearly 4 months and it has been a solid addition to my dorm. Would recommend.

It is custom sized to the cooker itself just like many brands of rice cooker. Their cup coresponds to the liquid fill lines in the cooker.
