Does the subwoofer include all the cables needed to play right out of the box or do I need to purchase a separate cable?

You need to purchase a cord for the subwoofer, it just comes with a power cord. I believe the cable is called an RCA cable. You also need to buy speaker wire for the speakers. One you get everything hooked up be sure to follow the instructions to properly break in the speakers. Once they are broken in, they sound great!

Question 2

I want to use this system with my computer purely as a sound system. Do I HAVE to have a receiver?

Yes, you will need a receiver.  The sub-woofer powers itself, but the rest of the speakers need a power source.

Question 3

Are the surround speakers able to be mounted on a speaker stand?  If so, what method do they use to fasten to the stand?  The pictures don't show what the bottom panel of the speakers looks like.

Yes, you can mount them. There are two different mounting options on the back, either to mount flat against a wall (you drive a screw into a wall and hang the speaker there with the built in hanging mount) or to mount to a speaker stand (the back of the speaker has an opening to have a screw driven into it). I don't know the screw thread "size" (whatever the spacing of the screw's spiral patterns are called) but I used the screws that came with my monoprice speaker stands which fit.

Is this the Classic or Classic II? The main picture looks to be of the newer model while the second picture looks like the older model (from the three middle speakers). Please advise. Thank you.

There is only 1 Take Classic 5.1 series from Energy, so not sure what you're referring to.  The pictures show the same model, one without and one with the grill covers.
