How small can you adjust the clamp? I need something to put on the arm of a chair that is 3/4 of an inch thick?

After measuring, The smallest gap you can have is a touch under an inch before the clamp bolt pops out. So if the arm of the chair is 3/4", i don't think it will work. Hope that helps!

How large of desk (measurement) is the clamp able to handle on the mouse platform?

I just measured it and it can do just under 2" thick
