Pros: Low overhead, extremely accurate with warnings, have never gotten a virus while using NOD32, excellent customer service!
Cons: The price if you were to buy it when it's not discounted, otherwise NO cons.
Overall Review: I've been using ESET's NOD32 (specifically NOD32, not Smart Security) for 14+ years. I figure eventually they'll change the name to NOD64???? LOL! I had tried a few other pay AV programs when my NOD subscription ran out just because of the price, but after that I swore to myself that I'll just keep getting NOD whenever I get within a few months of my subscription running out and NEWEGG has it on sale. It goes on sale fairly often on NEWEGG, and ESET is great about free upgrades to whatever their LATEST version is. So in other words if you buy the 2014 version now but don't install it until the 2015 version comes out, they've always allowed for the free upgrade. Most companies do not.
Pros: best AV I've found
Cons: recent marketing is detracing from their effectiveness, but they are still ahead of the others
Overall Review: Stay with version 4 until the newer ones get some of the bugs worked out.
Pros: Lightweight, powerful, easy to manage.
Cons: Recovery disc creator could be easier to set up.
Overall Review: I tend to combine this and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro on the computers I manage. Haven't had to clean an infection off of them since they were installed. The recovery disc creator needs additional windows components (AIK) to work. Could be easier to make, as a normal end user may not have the knowledge to work through it.
Pros: Nothing has ever gotten past it Peace of mind 1st year free with this rebate deal
Cons: Why the silly name?
Overall Review: I've got about 10 licenses for this now. I install it on every machine before it goes out to family so when my mother-in-law calls in a panic because her machine has been taken over (per an e-mail, or a flashing web-site ad that says so), I know it's not true.
Pros: I have been using ESET products for 8 years now. No magic bullets to keep all of the goo out of your computer, but this company's products have done a great job for me and my office. Cloud based as well as local AV signatures, multi daily updates, great customer service.... A great package in your layered computer defense.
Cons: none
Pros: Very robust and thorough and uses very little resources. This is by far the best anti-virus owned. Love the feature how it scans removable devices before it actually will allow windows to mount to your machine, which can possibly infect your machine. And it will literally update every 30-45 mins. VERY EFFECTIVE A/V.
Cons: Haven't found any.
Overall Review: Have seen many people report that the A/V will cause issues with Steam, but have been playing steam games on Windows 7 custom built machine without any issues since purchase.
Pros: ESET Live Grid helps prevent attacks done by other customers effecting my computer. Early Detection of malicious software.
Cons: None
Pros: ESET has very good products. I have been using it and recommending it for several years. It much lighter on system resources then most other anti-virus programs out there. It also works very well with Malwarebytes Pro if you have it installed. They complement each other very well. Yes you can install the 3pc version on different operating system. All 3 don't have to be the same as stated in a previous post. It does have a gamers mode. Go into "Setup", then "Enter advance setup" the expand "Computer" you will see it there and you can change some settings for it. Yes you can "Whitelist" websites or address. Here again open ESET and go into "Setup" then "Enter advance setup" the expand "web and email" then "URL address management" Here are a couple other setting I make. Click on "Setup", "Enter advance settings", expand "Computer", expand "Real-time files system protection", click on the box that says "Setup", click on "Cleaning" I move the slider to "Strict cleaning" Click on "Setup", "Enter advance settings", expand "Computer", click on "On-demand computer scan", click on the box next to "ThreatSense engine parameter setup:" that says "Setup", click on "Cleaning" I move the slider to "Strict cleaning"
Cons: None
Overall Review: I have been doing tech work on computers since windows 3.1 and only consider myself avg. To be 4 and 5 level you better have experience and knowledge in advance server applications, advance networking (enterprise level) and be able to do core OS level of service. Being able to install updates, drivers and hardware does not make you an expert.
