Dont know. DX12 is going to be more and more cpu dependent so i dont think you will stifle the performance in any manner

as long as it has a PCIe x16 slot it will work. do a google search for your computer to figure this out. You may need a larger power supply but I don't know how big the one is in your system but it should say on the outside of the power supply that is in your system.

Is the the low power variant that gets its power from the PCIe slot?

It isn't. The low power variants have product numbers have product numbers 02G-P4-095X (as opposed to this one, 02G-P4-195X, and the extra beefy ones, 02G-P4-295X) and have not yet been released. As far as I can tell, all the Nvidia card manufacturers recently announced their low-power 950 lines but none are actually buyable yet.
