Will this card work with an older 32-bit computer?

I put this card in a Dell Dimension 4550. It requires a minimum of an AGP 4x slot. It worked for me ok but I did start getting blue screens afterwards. This could be because I put Win7 32bit on the computer and it wants to use Aero effects. I'm not sure. It seems to be stable by not using the latest drivers. I currently have 301.42 driver from Nvidia. anything higher caused blue screens when running the Windows Experience Index. The price was good, but remember, an old computer won't get faster, only older.

I have had this video card running in an old 32bit Intel P4 system running linux for about 6 months now. It works perfectly for me. So in short, yes it works on a 32 bit system.

It lists as an AGP 8x card but it is currently working in a Dimension 4500 845p AGP 4x.   Remember to touch the power supply while it is plugged into the outlet to ground yourself, and remove the power cord and wait a few seconds before going into the computer case, or use an ESD grounding wristrap grounded to the outlet screw.    Nitrile  gloves are ESD safe, also download the drivers from the evga website for the appropriate operating system.

Try downloading CPU-Z to determine your motherboard model if you are trying any other upgrades.  With the Motherboard model you can look up detailed information from the manufacture.  Intel has a lot of great documentation on discontinued boards.

will this work in a asrock p4vm800 mobo ???

According to the tech specs of the ASRock P4VM800, it has the correct slot to accept this AGP 8X card, though I don't know for certain because I've never tried it personally.  If it were my decision, I would buy it as long as I had a full-height case.  The card is just what my customer needed.  He was tickled pink he didn't have to wait for his Facebook Newsfeed to load on his 8+ year-old PC.  He's not a gamer though, so bear in mind this card's limitations.

Yes.  To confirm, follow the Manufacturer Product Page link from Newegg (near the bottom of the Specs page). In the Details tab of that page, you will see Windows 7 32/64-bit is supported.  Note, EVGA recommends a minimum power supply rating of 300 Watts.  I hope this helps.

does this card supports win 7, and what is max resolution?

Yes.  I'm using it right now with W7 Enterprise 32bit on an older MSI motherboard.  It will enable the aero features that I wasn't seeing with the previous 250MB Invidia 6200 series board I was using.

Max resolution I have available in my settings is 1600x900.  I don't know if it's only showing what my monitor will support or if it goes higher.

The motherboard for the 4500s doesn't appear to have an AGP slot that would work for this video card.  There are two PCI slots in the 4500s motherboard, only. So, no, it will not fit in your PC.

Compatible with WIN-7? Yes and no.

Yes, it will work with the default VGA driver provided by Windows 7 but do not expect to be able to fine tune it for optimal performances. Both interface VGA and DVI will work too.

will this work in a dell inspiron 530s slimcase? it was recommended when i tried to get one i was told would work but you guys were out of stock and this is what you recommended on the website. just wanted to make sure before i dove in

In reviewing the specs of a Dell 530s PC - it appears to have a PCI Express graphics card slot on the motherboard. If that is the case - this EVGA graphics card won't work as it requires an AGP graphics slot.

Can I use this card using Ubuntu OS?

I'm researching this AGP card and a couple of others listed in newegg for a 10+ year old system for motherboard compatibility.  If I buy it, I'll write about it here.  My old video card works fine with Lubuntu (the light version for really old PC).  Edubuntu (the kid educational version) drags performance to a halt.  So, there are multiple flavors of Ubuntu out there and you should consider the performance needs video wise as well as minimum Ubuntu system requirements for your old PC.  Video performance of this card, if I buy it, should not have any problems with Ubuntu I'm thinking.
