Pros:
Improvement over the last card I replaced.
EVGA makes a good card, never failed me.
Cons: Can get warped over time and hot after long usage but no overheating problems.
Overall Review: I'd definitely recommend this as a good PCI card for a low level computer with Just PCI slots.
Pros: Glad to find this card for the price; not too many good pci cards out there at a reasonable price. Upgraded an old Dell Dimension 3000 and the o/b video wasn't compatible with Win 7 Pro SP-1. This card fix it right up, great color and motion now Customer is really happy. Ordering one more today.
Cons: none
Pros:
I have a variety of these GPUs from EVGA deployed across our business and for a medium duty workstation where people may have to do some basic graphic editting or drafting work they are quite sufficient and they are very reliable.
Ive run AGP and PCI varieties of this same card for years now and the drivers are rock solid and overall EVGA seems to have some of the highest standards in the business when making even their economy class cards. The quality of construction is good, and the design of the card is such that it will fit/work in most any application/case with ease.
With a half gig of ram on this card, it can handle anything other than modern PC gaming and it's a huge step up from onboard GPUs that would be sharing your system RAM.
Cons: passive cooling requires a case with good airflow to keep temperatures low. If it had a simple and well constructed fan on it, it would be a true 5 star product.
Overall Review: I use EVGA video cards in home computing, enterprise IT work and in my gaming rig. Across the board, I have had no complaints with their GPUs and I recommend them highly to anyone who will listen.
Pros: It's a PCI card and it might work as a single graphics card.
Cons: I installed this as a 2nd Video card in a PCI slot on a Windows XP machine to replace a Radeon card that the DVI port had failed on. As soon as the driver, from the CD, loaded, both screens went blank. Both displays remained black and the machine eventurally rebooted. I attempted to download and install a new driver but as soon as the card was reinstalled the system "blanked out" again. Requested an RMA and will try different card.
Overall Review: I didn't give the card a 1 because it might be suitable as the only graphics card? NewEgg was very prompt in issuing an RMA.
Pros: Video quality--adds the needed boost to keep my 8 year old build still functioning since my agp slot burned out
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Good card for keeping the "beast": functioning as a web and office computer for at least a couple of more years. Or until I finally break down and build another tower.
Pros:
- Picks up drivers from Windows update automatically.
- Works in older and new machines.
- Will work with an existing PCIe video card to add additional monitors to the system (with some caveats).
- Low power, fanless for less noise.
Cons:
- A bit pricey for older PCI based technology.
- Ok for video, but not great.
- Need to turn some things off before it will work with Windows 7.
- DVD that comes with the card only has XP and Vista drivers. Must install drivers online.
Overall Review:
I got this card to expand a system from two to four monitors. There was an existing PCIe dual head video card in the system using the only available PCIe slot, so I needed to either replace the card with a quad head card, or see if I could get a PCI card to work.
Installed the card on a Windows 7 64-bit system with 8GB ram and a dual core AMD processor. Card was detected by Windows and the drivers were installed from the web (took about 15 minutes). Modified the resolutions to 1920x1080 on the two new monitors, rearranged them to expand the desktop and started testing.
Performance was not good. Desktop would lock up periodically, there were keyboard lags typing in open windows, moving windows from one monitor to the other was an exercise in patience.
Worked with system settings to try to speed things up; got the latest drivers from Windows update (there were newer 2013 drivers). Once I turned the Aero theme off and went to a Windows basic theme, things suddenly started working properly. Culprit appears to be Aero; if I were using this card alone in a system, I'd probably want to turn Aero off there too.
At this point, appears to be operating just fine. Windows can be moved from monitor to monitor without problems, there is no keyboard lag typing anything in any window on any monitor, and performance is good (not great). Not doing any gaming with this; would not expect games to work that well on the PCI card, though my existing PCIe card still works well on the two monitors it drives.
Overall not a bad solution if you want to avoid $100-plus for a quad head card and just add an additional PCI card for every day, non-gaming use. Four eggs because it's a good but not great solution.
Pros: - it allows you to put a graphci card in a motherboard without a AGP or PCI-E slot
Cons: - Blue screened/failed POST in 1st 3 computers I tried to put it in. Worked in 4th, and there it stayed until I sold the PC it was in.
Overall Review: Be careful with PCI graphic cards, as they don't work with every chipset. The PC that i put mine in was old (Dell Dimension 3100)
