Pros: I have a lot of experience with Video Cards and this one tops the AGP field. It gets 30FPS on GRAW and when I overclock it I am getting 40. The card overclocks very well. Im running 496 GPU by 1.43 memory. No artifacts or overheating with stock cooling. The fan is not as loud as the previous cards I have owned and my benchmarks are awsome.
Cons: The bracket was slightly bent on the card. I bent it back no problem so no harm done.
Overall Review: I have two top of the line video cards for AGP..The ATI x850XT PE and the GeForce 7800GS. The 7800GS is a much better card overall. I did not get near about the overclock ability of the Geforce on the ATI and I also was about 3 to 4 FPS slower on GRAW. Benchmarks came out higher on the 7800 also. This is the best AGP card you can buy.
Pros: The card fit fine in my full tower case (x-infinity) the card is no bigger than my geforce 6800 was. I dont know what people are complaining about. The card aslo was no heavier than my last card ( geforce 6800)
Its very fast and Oblivion auto configured to Ultra Settings. Company of heroes looks sweet and even Titian quest the biggest resource hog plays fast on high settings.Got my package in two days!
Cons: When UPS droped my box off at work it was totaly smashed! I opened up my box to find the mounting plat to be bent!!! UPS SUCKS! & New Egg should use better quality box's for your exspensive coumputer parts. They also should put "fragile" Stickers on the box. They also use cheap popcorn packing material instead of bubble wrap.
Overall Review: Great upgrade for a AGP system.
P4 3.0 GHZ HT processor. Abit-IS7-E2 motherboard. X-Infinity case. 2 Gigs of Corsair XMS DDR2 dual chanel ram pc3200-DDR400. Antec 400w PSU 12v 18amp rail for my video card. 2 DVD optical drives. 3 case fans, 2 hard drive fans and no power issues! Antec rocks!
Pros: Best AGP card out there...*IF* it works.
Got here TWO days after ordering, DANG!
Cons: Folks, there seems to be a known issue with these cards. On Evga's website there is a 26 page thread on their message board with hundreds of posts complaining about these cards (check for your self). Evga even acknowledged it. No one knows what the issue is and this seems to have been going on since February. Also I've noticed complaints around the net.
No one can agree if the problem is...
Power Supply?
BIOS?
Architecture?
One thing's for sure, a lot of these cards are bad. Wish I would have read else where than just the reviews here when deciding to buy it (thats what they tell you to do).
My card lasted a few days then biffed it.
Yeah, I know some of you got good working cards. I'm speaking for the tons of people that didn't and to have those thinking of buying it to do their homework.
Overall Review: I've been a loyal Newegg customer for years. This was my first time experiencing the return process...One word, Painless.
Newegg ROCKS! They took good care of me and will always have my business!
Class act all the way. Why buy any where else?
***** for Newegg!
1-20 minutes freeze ups sound repeating in background.5/11/2006 8:35:45 AM
Pros: eVGA usualy is a good solid brand.
Cons: I saved up and bought this couple days ago. Put it in and installed latest nvidia drivers no prob. Started to play a game and in about 1-20 minutes get freeze up and sound cycling in background. I have tried everything. New drivers, different drivers. Messed wid bios video card options. I have a solid psu 500 watt ultra max. MB,Cpu and gpu temps are all low. There apperently are known issues with this card and certain versions of this card that have issues. Seems like factory clocks speeds are to high for the gpu or something like that. Down clocking works fine but I didnt spend xxx to downclock it to make it work.
Pros: This card runs all the newer games flawlessly. COD 2, F.E.A.R, Condemned - Criminal Origins Demo, BF2, all maxed out without a single stutter. I'm running a P4 3.0ghz with a gig of DDR400 RAM. Runs quitely too, 40c at idle, about 50-53c after playing F.E.A.R. Blows away the 6600GT it replaced
Cons: The price, and it's a bit long. You need to remove the card if you want to add/remove RAM sticks. Might not fit on some boards.
Overall Review: This card will do until I upgrade to PCI-e.

Excellent card for it's technology9/23/2007 6:59:01 AM
Pros: Let me preface this review with an important reference. I'm replacing an nVidia FX5900 Ultra 256. I say this because it has everything to do with the significant difference I experienced. Those systems running with nVidia's 6000+ series may not see as significant a difference as this family of cards supports many of the same features the FX series does not. With that said, here's what we have: My FX card does not support HDR so the difference in lighting alone were giant and provided me with a completely new experience with games that use these effects (ie: HL2's Episode1, LostCoast, etc.). Since the card is designed to support the features in DX9 I experienced a signifcant improvement in performance in games designed for this platform. For example I used to run COD2 with the DX7 option because under DX9 it was like watching a slide show. Older games that were designed for DX9 (COD2, Doom3, PainKiller, many others) run much, much better with this very simple upgrade. It took a
Cons: If you're looking to run today's games with all the settings turned up you will be disappointed. This is an aging technology and the newer video cards designed to run the newer games require better processors which require better motherboards which require better PSU's, etc etc . Also the card is huge. I use a full tower case so it fit really easy and although I've never heard of anyone NOT able to install it, I've read of people having problems with smaller cases.
Overall Review: I made sure to keep my expectations in check and to know before hand exactly what I wanted from the card so that I can give it a fair judgement. I bought this card because I wanted a nicer picture so I only wanted to upgrade the video card. I didnt want to spring for all the components needed for today's top cards and this was the best option I could find. For what it's worth it was absolutely the very best bang for the buck. Loads of improvements with very little cost ;)
Pros: A great AGP card that doesn't require it's own nuclear reactor to power.
I previously had an ATI X1950 PRO 512MB AGP card. This card was flaky with the nForce 3 chipset on my motherboard as well as requiring a 450W, 12+ 30A power supply and generated a lot heat.
After purchasing a new house an having a nice office now the ATI couldn't cut it as the room would heat up and the computer would reboot while trying to play any 3d game.
I purchased this card to fix the issue. This card is a lot quieter than the X1950, runs cooler and only requires a 350W 12+ 18A power supply.
Cons: Yes the X1950 AGP cards are faster than the 7800GS cards but on average I've only seen a 4-5 FPS drop which is fine with the other trade offs.
Overall Review: If you are building a new computer get a PCI Express motherboard and card. However, if you just want to perform an upgrade to your AGP system to play newer games you have a choice.
You can go for pure speed with ATI X1950 Pro AGP cards and deal with noise, heat, and likely needing to upgrade your powersupply.
Or you can get with a nice NVidia card like this one. It's quiet, temp under full load is only slightly higher than the ATI under idle, and works just fine with my older power supply for a few less frames per second.
Pros: Amazing update for my computer. So far it is working great. My old card (Geforce Fx 5200) scored around 1,100 on 3dmark03, this one got around 11,800 on 3dmark03. Kinda warm at 54C after gaming.
Cons: Little hot after gaming, but nothing to worry about. 4 out of 5 because I recieved it and was freaked out because it didn't fit in my AGP slot at first. Turned out to be because the bottom was slightly bent, so I just bent it back into place and it fit perfectly.
Overall Review: Pretty big card but fit ok in my Dimension 4600. Fan is loud at startup.
