EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS DirectX 10 256-P2-N762-TR 256MB 128-Bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Its pretty fast. I was replacing my dedicated 7300 LE with this card, and I am impressed. Vista gave my previous card a 2.6 for gaming. ouch. This card gets a 5.6 for gaming. Its only 40 bucks, and you get a card that can play any game. Crysis ran ~60 fps at 1024x768 with mostly low, some medium settings. No lag. Games like AOE3 and The Sims 2 will run on full settings. Games like Bioshock and COD4 run on ~Medium settings DX10 and HDCP and SLI compatible. Honestly, I don't care, but its good to know it can do it. Newegg AND the box that the card came in claimed it required a 6 pin PCIe connector. I don't have one, but the box said it came with a 4pin->6pin adapter. To my pleasant surprise, the card actually only has a 4pin input. It also comes with a 4pin splitter, so you don't have to use any 4pin connectors. Two DVI ports, and DVI->VGA adapters. Cons: 256 MB. The 8600GTS is basically a 8600GT overclocked. Most of the 8600GTs come with 512, but the GTS is only 256 MB. However, GTS is a better chipset, and it was only 40 bucks, so I can't complain. Wish it were faster. O well.

Overall Review: Good for ANY media usage. Good for Most gaming. Good for Casual usage. Cards really don't get much cheaper, so don't skimp out. Don't buy an 8500 or lower, you will save almost no money. Rebates are annoying, but worth it. EVGA rocks. Newegg Rocks. Fast Shipping.

Pros: -Very Cheap Price -Awesome Core and Memory Clock Speed -GDDR3 Memory -DirectX 10 -Shader Model 4.0 -Good Warranty -Uses Standard 4 pin connector -With fan speed on 50% and my side door off, all i hear is a little "vrum" (Very Quit) Game Frames: (1280x1024) Garrys mod(all high no aa)= 60-70fps Counter Strike (all high no aa)= 60-70 fps Left 4 Dead (everything maxed including aa) =30-40 fps I have not tried on cod4 yet but i am wanting to.

Cons: -Not the best for overclocking -256 mb -128 bit memory -It doesnt print money, or get me drinks (REALY MAKES ME MAD!!!!) :(=|==< <Me being mad!

Overall Review: BUY IT NOW!!!!! Would be great for a htpc or a mid (low budget) gamer.

Pros: A very nice card for the price. Plays most newer games on decent medium settings, and older games flawlessly on high. I played Bioshock with a constant 50+ framerate with the highest settings. A huge improvement from my onboard GeForce 6150 SE. Vista Rating went from 3.0 to a 5.6 (5.9 being the highest) Also, this is a DirectX 10 card. Which is nice for such a cheap price. Future proofing on a budget.

Cons: The power connector is a Molex rather than 6-pin. Now this is only a con to me, because I lack spare Molex and would have preferred the 6-pin but if you have the spare, this shouldn't be a problem for you. Card runs somewhat hot after long periods of gaming, but then again most do.

Overall Review: I don't know if it's just my card, but whenever I start my computer it is EXTREMELY loud until login. After login, it idles down to a much quieter level. All in all, I would suggest this card for a decent medium entry card, especially for the price.

Pros: incredible value! video output is awesome on my the samsung lcd it drives, so much better than integrated gpu. increased windows video score from 2.0 with 6200 onbound gpu to 5.7 which was same scoare my 8800GT got! Directx 10! DDR3! Costs the same as evga 8600GT except you pay for shipping where as free on 8600gt. Pretty quite and doesn't seem to take much juice, runs fine on stock PSU. HDPC capable. Easy instal for Vista 32 and drivers seem current. Got it pretty quick, thanks newegg!

Cons: funky music when you throw the install cd in. unsure if it runs hot like some people said

Overall Review: ok, if you have someone on your christmas list that is a gamer, this case World of Warcraft, this is a steal! Bought for my bro as gift, improvements gained to a level that I thought I would have had to dish out twice as much $$ for. Don't let the 256 megs of ram or awesomely low price scare you. Say no to onboard gpu and buy this already

Pros: VERY good card for the money. I purchased this for my Blu-ray DVD burner/player and it works great.

Cons: As someone else stated, the drivers on the disc that comes with the card will not install with Vista. When you click on the driver, nothing happens. Just go to EVGA website and d/l the lastest ones (A good idea anyway)

Pros: Decent performance. Easy install.

Cons: Manual is generic. On my first inspection of the card I did not see a supplemental power adapter. Manual says *IF* it has one then plug it in. Turns out I was holding it as i rotated the card looking for it (Doh!). Driver disk that comes with the package has vista drivers but vista will not install them! Not a terrible issue as I went to EVGA's website and downloaded updated versions (I would have anyway) and that fixed that.

Overall Review: Running a Foxconn A6VMX with X2 4600+ and 4G Memory. Played EQ2 on lowest settings possible at 40 FPS AVG. NOW can play on High setting (not highest possible) at 40 FPS AVG.

Pros: Installed in a Dell Dimension 6700 without a problem. So far seems to be working great and the kids are delighted to finally be playing COD 4 on the computer.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Drivers on the enclosed disk were not the most recent so be sure to check the EVGA website for update.
