Edit for previous review 1/1/2013 7:17:38 PM

Pros: After doing some research on this card, I found out two things.

One: The fan is very fixable. Most come in the box defective. You have to set the fan in the correct spot immediately by pressing it into place. After doing so, heat was no longer an issue.

Two: The 9500 GT is simply a G96 GPU. It's the same as the 9400 GT which runs at 550 MHz with a slower memory clock, and this 9500, but also runs the 9700-M GT, which has a core clock of 625 MHz. Meaning, overclocking this card to 625 MHz has no effect on power or heat. I have it clocked at 625 MHz right now and it actually runs cooler because for one it is designed to run at 625 MHz, and it also doesn't have to work as hard to perform the same tasks.

Cons: Fan issue can be very irritating and can cause problems down the road if you don't know about it. Also, with EVGA being a very good manufacturer, they should have just clocked the GPU in this 9500 to what it's rated for in the first place... 625 MHz. Not 550 MHz... instead of underclocking it to sell it cheaper.

Overall Review: I used EVGA Precision X to overclock my card. After fixing the fan and overclocking it, I can set the fan speed with EVGA Precision X to 50% and run the GPU at 100% usage all day long, and never see its temp go above 58 C... vs. stock clocks and a factory defective fan making it run as high as 85 C out of the box... Come on guys make your stuff work as it should.

GREAT card. Few issues. 12/28/2012 6:28:34 PM

Pros: Great video card when performing at its highest... especially since the rest of my system is low end. Runs Skyrim maxed and with 8x AA/16x AF at an average of 25-30 fps in 1680x1050. Also runs Crysis on very high settings at about 20 fps. Oblivion @ about 45.

Cons: From the day I got it it's run really hot. Meaning, 54C idle and 76-82C under load, and I have decent air flow in my case. Also recently the fan has gotten really loud and I have a feeling it's going to need replaced soon, especially since I see it's a common problem.

Overall Review: My system - 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron 440 Single-Core, 2.5 GB DDR2 667 MHz RAM, and this GeForce 9500 GT running in Win7 Ult x64. Think I'm lying about runnin Skyrim/Crysis with this, I'll show ya a video lol.
I bought this card mid-June 2009 and it's been through 6 different computers. This current build is just something I threw together when my mobo went out in my main PC.

Malfunctioned after 1 year 5/19/2011 11:15:41 AM

Pros: Did its job for awhile.

Cons: Produces a huge amount of heat and noise. After the first year the plastic securing the fan to the heatsink completely melted. I opened my case to find my fan dangling from wires.

Overall Review: Repairing the video card wasn't so bad. Put on some new heatsink compound, bought a 12mm fan and rigged it to what was left. To be fair my case has pretty bad airflow, but I've never had any of my past 3 video cards melt the fan off.

Didn't even make a year 3/31/2011 8:55:45 PM

Pros: I bought this to replace an xfx card and it was a pretty good upgrade. Compared to what I had.

Cons: It didnt even make it past a year. Something is wrong with the card. I think it died on me. The card died on me last month or at least I think it did. I tried it in three different machine and it didn't work. It prevents the computer from powering on. Should have stuck with xfx.

Died on me 3/31/2011 8:08:44 PM

Pros: Great when it worked
Dual monitor

Cons: First DVI connector died 1 year into use, I ignored it and continued to use the second one because I only have 1 monitor.
2nd one just died this last weekend- wasted 2 hours swapping parts and troubleshooting.

Overall Review: Should of sent it in when the first one died... argg

Great mid level card 3/27/2011 10:24:09 AM

Pros: INstalled two of these cards in my computer. They were a breeze to install and worked out of the box with Windows 7. The heatsinks are not overly large. Included two DVI to D-sub adapters with each card which was perfect.

Cons: No SLI cable included.

Great Video Cards! 3/13/2011 9:25:02 PM

Pros: Very good for monitor support no complaints.

Dual DVI connections what more can you ask for?
Works great with multiple in one machine
run very cold idle 53c 65c load
Pretty good card.
I have 6 monitor support because I have 3 in one machine non sli and they work flawlessly.

Cons: Fan speed is locked to 100 percent however if you download the EVGA precision you can turn auto fan speed on in the options and it will lower it to 45 and up depending on the need.

Evga precision is awesome.

Overall Review: Download evga precision and love life.
