Is the palm rest removable?  My old split keyboard had removable palm rest and I like it better that way.

Hi Brian,
In all truthfulness, I never received my keyboard. I ordered and paid for it, however, they sent it to the wrong address. When I contacted customer service they would not send me another keyboard, bur rather said they were sorry. I have never ordered from  Newegg again.

Is this keyboard backlit?

Nope, just stick on decals, like most keyboards these days.....  :(  Try a Mac or one of those fancy gamer keyboards with red LEDs (ohhhh).  I have two different MS natural keyboards ( like them ) and neither are back lit.

Question 3

I'm trying out a MS Natural right now and the space bar is clunky and really LOUD! How does the Fellowes compare?

Funny you should mention that. I used MS Natural prior to this one and the space bar was also very loud.
 
Short Answer: Less Loud and less clunky. If your space bar was the only issue - the price comparison to this keyboard was well worth it to me.

Long Answer: The keys on the Fellowes keyboard are a little stiffer and despite using an ergo keyboard for many years the spacing took me a little while to get used to. Not sure if it the less-rounded keys that I have been accustomed to or if it is merely spaces slightly different. Unfortunately I threw out my MS keyboard and was using a regular keyboard while waiting for the Fellowes so I was unable to compare. It was actually the space bar which started failing after several years that prompted me to replace it. The one big difference for me is that I have not tried to run the Fellowes through the dishwasher yet. I was able to with my MS keyboard with no problems for several years. So much use and washing in fact there were no labels on any of the keys (which drove my wife insane).

Will this keyboard work with Windows 10 Pro?

I have had mine for a few months and it worked great with win 10 pro 64 bit, all controls work great I use the volume controls most but nice to have the sleep, e-mail and search right at my finger tip. It has been great I love it.

Question 5

Are the keys the chiclet type or the taller keys? I want an ergonomic keyboard with the chiclet type keys.

I'm not certain about what you mean by "Chiclet" keys, but the keys on the Fellowes Microban, Split Design Keyboard are what I would call "normal".  They are not membrane keys, and must be pressed some distance for them to operate.  Nothing unusual, just normal.

I like the keyboard, and I have not had any problems with it.

Yes, the Fellowes Smart Design Keyboard can be used with Windows 10.; it's a nice alternative to the MS dominated natural keyboard market, only bad thing is the keys are loud during typing depress.

I don't know of any particularly special keys for Windows 8.  It is a USB keyboard, and it will work plugged into a Windows 8 system, as a keyboard.

I really like the keyboard.  It is well made, comfortable, and is holding up well to my hard typing.

You press the PrtSc/SysRq button.  It "takes a picture" of your screen and puts it on your clip board.  This is done behind the scenes, so it doesn't look like it did anything.  But if you open a document (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher or otherwise) and paste it in (ctrl + v), the image of your screen will appear in your document.

According to some reviews, this is a PS2 connector.   It says in the specs it is USB.  Which is correct?  I need a USB for my motherboard.

The keyboard I received was a USB connection. PS2 wasn't at all present, not even an option. This was a plug and play setup, quick, and easy.

I like the keyboard. It wants to rest with a slight "forward" tilt, but in fact this straightens the wrists and makes long term typing more comfortable.

I'm happy with the purchase.
