Question 1

Is this really wireless? The description says it includes a power supply, which would imply that it needs to be plugged in. I count that as a wire since I need to place this where it would not be plugged in to anything--whether ethernet or electrical outlet.

I haven't looked specifically, but I've never come across a battery powered IP camera. The best you are going to get is 1 wire. Whether it's the power cable or ethernet (POE).

Question 2

Can this be connected to a smart TV for continuous monitoring either by cable or the wireless network?

In order to view the video stream from the camera, you need to install a viewer on the device, such as a computer that has a browser.  As such, smart phones, tablets, and computers are the usual devices for viewing. I have an older smart TV.  These devices are severely limited in terms of software that can be installed on them. Obviously, if you can download and install software on your TV, you can monitor the camera, or any IP camera on the market.

Question 3

I'm thinking of perhaps laying this on top of my windowsill and face it to monitor the front of the house overlooking my driveway.  Has anyone done this setup and had any problems with IR bouncing off the window and distorting the image?  I also have lights on in the front of my garage that shed some light towards the driveway and might be able to get away with leaving IR off if the camera can see adequately with the light from those lights.  I appreciate any responses. Thank you.

I cancelled my order of this security camera, but I thought that I would mention that I think the motion detect triggering function of the camera depends on IR also, and this will not work through window glass.

Question 4

Is there a way to turn off the warning audio messages?  I can't have the camera "talking" every time it connects to WiFi.

No, according to a manufacturer's representative, there is no way currently to turn off the camera announcements.  While these announcement aid in setting up the camera by broadcasting audio messages, there are an absolute detriment to a security camera, or a baby monitor.
