For work or play, the G31AX-K by Foxconn offers affordable, reliable performance. This ATX motherboard is based on Intel's G31 and ICH7 chipsets and is ready to support Intel's socket LGA 775 processors including Quad-Core, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Duo and Pentium CPUs with a front side bus of 1066 MHz which can be increased to 1333 MHz through overclocking. Up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM can be installed with full dual channel support. Use the onboard Intel GMA 3100 video chipset or install a PCI Express x16 graphics card for enhanced performance.
The G31AX-K makes an ideal basis for a security monitoring system with five PCI slots enabling multiple video feeds. Video – or files can be streamed to up to four 3Gb/s SATA 2 storage devices with high speed data transfer. The Realtek ALC662 audio chipset delivers 6 channels of theater-quality sound. The Gigabit Ethernet LAN allows data streaming between other systems on the network with no bottlenecks. Eight USB 2.0 ports offer great potential to add other system components.
