Short P4 cable 10/10/2008 4:54:24 PM

Pros: FSP Group always has reliable power supplies.

Cons: The P4 cable is short. If you have a case where the power supply sits on the bottom, the P4 connector will not reach the motherboard if the P4 connection on the motherboard is near the keyboard connector. Have to take away an egg for that. It looks like the 400w version may have longer cables.

Overall Review: I don't know whether getting a power supply where the fan sits on the back side vs bottom side is better. In my case, the PSU sat on the bottom of the case while sucking in air from below, which created a lot of noise. I'm thinking of turning the PSU upside down so it draws air from the inside of the case

DOA, but still hopeful 9/15/2008 11:54:19 AM

Pros: Price is nice. Past FSP's have been very quiet and I've loved putting them in my builds. Hopeful that the replacement will last a very long time.

Cons: DOA. Dead on arrival, hoping newegg will be sending a replacement soon. I normally like this brand, but this made me uneasy.

First to review, no a good start ... 9/12/2008 11:46:29 AM

Pros: PFC, low standby power, great efficiency, nice price, but ...

Cons: When I installed it, the standby power worked (motherboard LED was on, keyboard was lit), but when I tried to power up the system, a noise came from the PSU and the lights in the house flickered. So it was pulling lots of current for short pulses trying to start. Replaced it with a spare PSU I had around to make sure the motherboard was not damaged and it started fine.

Overall Review: I had high hopes for this vendor. This could have failed due to shipping damage, but that should also be the vendor's responsibility to make the product and packaging transport safely. Along those lines, this unit showed up from Newegg wrapped in bubble wrap, so how was it shipped to Newegg? Probably bulk wrapped onto a pallet. Not good, if so.
