Question 1

I have an ASUS Eee PC ( Model 1015E ) with 1.0 GB memory.
I want to up grade to this G.Skill 2.0 GB memory.
will this significantly improve my Eee pc's performance ?
I'm running Window's 7 starter O.S.

I wasn't able to find the memory specifications on that Eee PC (model 1015E ships with 2GB DDR3 memory minimum)

That said, more memory will generally help performance by reducing the total number of page file accesses, especially if you are getting "low memory" warnings.

The best thing you can do when upgrading memory is choose the fastest and largest capacity RAM your motherboard (and wallet) can handle. With older machines, the memory is inexpensive, so take it to the max!

From the looks of it yes it should fit. But remember I don't have that laptop to try it. I just Googled some pictures of the laptop.
this ram module its only a millimeter thicker than regular ram and one millimeter taller.
It fit in my tiny net book " ASUS Eee PC 1015PEB"

Will this ram work in my Dell Inspiron mini 10 Nickelodeon Edition?

You will have to go to the dell website, punch in your service tag, and check if there are memory specs listed. . see if the memory module matches. Thing is, I Don't know if the dell support site will give you exact specs, but the inspiron max memory is supposedly 1GB(according to dell retail links), so I dont know why you'd want to try and upgrade anyway. You basically cant upgrade the mini 10's ram.

256X64   is this also a spec of this memory chip?

i would think not, unless its a measurement of its physical size, when i bought it the unit was a little smaller than a standard credit card, but if it is a spec the only thing that comes to mind would be a 256 bit security encryption for 64 bit operation systems but even that's a stretch because these were manufactured a few years before 64 bit Os's came out.
