Question 1

Is this compatible with the Z87 Sabertooth?! I plan on running the Z87 with the i7-4770k. It has the "right" specs, I just really don't want to buy something and have issues. I have everything else in my build and this is on Asus' website on their list, I just really want to make sure. I've seen an awful lot of RAM related issues with the Asus sabertooth and maximus boards and don't want to deal with the return hassle.

Hi CH,

I have been using this ram in my z78 Sabertooth for 6 months or so with absolutely no issues.  I think I also confirmed that the ram kit was compatible with the sabertooth, but I can definitely say its been very stable in my system.

I even have used this ram to temporarily replace defective ram on a second Asus Motherboard the asus maximus vi hero, where its also very stable.

I "work in IT" as a sys admin, and network security, and I have a lot of experience with building systems and troubleshooting issues.

M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3  With a AMD FX 8 core processor at 4 GHZ Will this memory work?

yez, but if ur goin 8 core fx vishera, id get a new ryzen chip and motherboard. haz much higher ipc and runz much quicker even a 4 core amd ryzen beatz a old fx processor and supportz ddr4 .but u may be transitioning a build over or already have the partz  the answer iz yez, itz still ddr3 ram, faster setz r just better binned. but it may default to 1333 MHz or 1600 on startup so u may have oc it in bios and will prolly pump up voltage abit 2.

will this work with a asrock 990fx extreme 3 motherboard and amd 8 core processor?

Yes, it will. This what i use in my computer. You may have to manually set your ram timing. Also make sure that you have the latest version of your motherboard's Bios.

Question 4

Just curious, are these the (XMP) version? Is there a non (XMP) version? Just making sure as my QVL has the model number with (xmp) at the end.

can i run 2x of these kits for 64gb total? i have quad channel sabertooth x79 so my understanding is that 2 banks are independent
