Pros: Very well built ram, excellent heat spreader design and execution. Was able to run cas 6-7-6-12 at 1900mhz before I had stability problems. People seem to be having a hard time getting the ram set to the speed its advertised as. I think people assume the ram will just run the speed out of the box, you have to assign the CAS settings in the bios as well as the divider.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I had absolutely 0 problems getting this ram to the advertised speeds, If your any bit of a good system builder you will have 0 problems making this ram perform. A guy did some write ups in the memory section at ocforums.com. Worth your time!

be careful installing it 9/15/2009 8:30:17 PM

Pros: can't comment yet, just came by to say one thing:

Cons: be careful when you are installing it. The heatspreader is very sharp on the top and I cut my finger open pushing it into the socket. not very bad but it bled.

Overall Review: so far i've been stable at 1600mhz @ 7-8-7-22 I'm pretty sure i can get it to the stated speeds just need to play around with core VTT and vdimm more. core i7 920 3800mhz, gtx 260 core 216, g.skill trident 6gb tri-channel ddr3-1600. i will put a more in-depth review after a month or two.

Dear Customer

I will let the manufacturing department know immediately about the sharp edges! We apologize for that as that should not happen. For the memory settings in BIOS, make sure memory voltage is set to 1.65V. Memory timings should be 6-7-6-18. If you have issues or need assistance configuring the BIOS, please feel free to contact us and we will be more than glad to assist you.

Thank you

Good ram, but dumb heatspreader 8/25/2009 10:39:24 PM

Pros: low-latency
looks awesome w/bloodrage mobo and coolermaster haf
feels solid
could have great overclocking potential (haven't gotten into the dirty yet though)

Cons: The heatspreader. The way it is designed is just ridiculous, it's way higher than the ram stick is and IMO is unessesary. I thought it would look cool but I didn't anticipate the trouble it would cause me. I got a dark knight cooler with my case and since the cpu socket is in relatively close proximity with the memory slots, the Dark knight wouldn't let a third stick into the slot. I physically had to manipulate the dark knight to allow the memory into the slot...of course it still looked awful and was leaning (being pushed) to one side pretty badly. So I decided to just take the last bit of ram out. Now I'm stuck with 4gigs instead of 6 which isn't the end of the world. Just be wary of the design...if your slots are FAR away from your cooler than you should be ok, if not, get a cooler with adequate headroom for the memory.

Overall Review: I gave this four stars (even though the spreaders are ridicuoluous) because of a number of reasons.

First: The memory layout was pretty bad to begin with, and therefore set up this situation. Though not completely since I could easily fit another regular stick of memory in the empty slot if I were so inclined.

Second: The dark knight was bigger than I anticipated. Sorry, WIDER than I anticipated. The height was no issue, but the width crowded a lot of places. However, as with the first point, I could still fit a piece of normal memory in the empty slot with no problems.

Third: It's my own fault for not making sure everything would work exactly as I had wanted them to...such is the plight of the internet shopper.

Dear Customer

Unfortunately the Dark Knight cooler does slightly get in the way, but the heat spreaders are properly designed for maximum cooling. These are one of our high performance gaming / overclocking memory modules thus requiring the need for maximum cooling. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are sure you will be very happy with this memory package as it has great flexibility and potential. If you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know and we will be glad to assist you.
