"Wanted to upgrade from the stock 6gb in my Asus N56VJ-WH71 to 16gb. I'm really hoping the CL-9 works ok in this laptop, as I could not find any reviews for or against it. I know the stock ram is CL-11 but its got a 3rd gen i7 processor which takes the 1.35v. The bios should be able to adjust the CL accordingly though." Does this sound about right? Normally I don't buy things unless I'm 100% sure there wont be a compatibility issue, but I just placed the order since I saw the G.Skill monitors these post and has really great CS in the event that there is a mistake.

I used this ram in a dell laptop and it works great. As long as the voltages match you should be ok. Typically asus's motherboards get cranky when you max the ram slots, but I've never experienced that in a laptop. I looked up your laptop model and there is no QVL for ram, so you should be good. If you want to be absolutely sure, there is a ram manufacture who has a system scanner that could be "crucial" in ensuring you get compatible ram sticks.

Question 2

Will this memory work in the new Acer C720-2800 Chromebook NX.SHEAA.001? The C720 comes with DDR3L SDRAM but I'm not sure about CAS latency, clock speed, or voltage.

Maximum memory for your computer is 4GB. And I do  not believe you need 16GB of RAM for a Chromebook with a 16GB storage SSD drive.

I looked up the specs for your laptop and they are:

PC3-10600 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
Two SO-DIMM Slots
The use of 1333 MHz SO DIMM memory is recommended for this system.
1 GB, 2GB, or 4GB memory
Supports up to 8GB maximum memory
2GB, 4GB Intel Turbo Memory (selected models)
Note: Only 64-bit operating systems support more than 3GB of system memory (RAM).

That being said, it is the correct RAM in that it is DDR3, PC3 RAM but it says your laptop will only support up to 8GB of RAM; this would be more than you can use it looks like. Since that's the case I would go for 2 sticks of 4GB, or 1 stick of 8GB but not the 16GB because it looks like your system can't use it.

Hi! Thanks to all of you  for the answers. My main concern is about latency since the 3360M is not the snappiest chip in town and these Ripjaws are CL9. Do you have any trouble with automatic overclocking or overheating? I'll would be discarding the original one and putting a pair of Ripjaws ( 2x8), I mean 16Gb is the maximum possible upgrade for my laptop, despite the processor itself support 32 Gb, technically speaking. Will this work well with the new Alienware 13 R2 laptop? I don't see why not but I'm fairly new to upgrading laptops and computers on my own. I would be devastated to ruin my brand new Alienware over RAM.

From what I see of the Alienware 13 R2 specs, it uses DDR3L 1600, so this would be a suitable replacement RAM.  Unfortunately I can't remember which laptop I bought this for and installed it in, as it was 2 years ago.  I suspect it was my work laptop, an HP zBook 17.

If you want to be certain, download the freeware "Speccy" and look at the details of the existing RAM installed in the laptop.  If it also shows DDR3L-1600 as the RAM type, this will work as a replacement.  If the laptop has multiple RAM slots and this will be added in addition to the original RAM, it may be important to match the timings as well, which are the part listed as "CL9-9-9-28" and the voltage which shows as 1.35V.  If you are removing the original RAM and installing this instead, it will work without a problem.

Check the user's manual you will find which kind of memory is works in your laptop.

This is a DDR3 memory if your laptop is using DDR3 then will be okey.

Another question is the speed. This is maximum 1600Mhz
Maybe your laptop is just can use 1333Mhz speed memory, but in this case the memory still works in your laptop just not on a full speed.

This RAM should would work with your Dell.  Be advised you may need to do a BIOS update for it to be recognized, depending on when you purched your laptop. (And you will need to be running a 64-bit version of Windows as well.)

I have a 15R 5537 that has it installed.  Dell incorrectly stated the max RAM for my unit was 8 GB, but Intel's spec for the 4th gen Core I5 was 16GB.  I did the BIOS update and it was recognized in both the BIOS and Windows.  Great RAM by the way.

Are these RAM compatible with my 13" Macbook pro (Mid 2012) Intel core i5?

First of all, is the type of memory that your Mac calls out for?  Usually you can go to tech support or run the scanner on the crucial website and that will verify the memory type that your MAC uses.  Also in some Macs, the maximum memory is 8 gig but will indeed see the total 16 gig of memory.  I had to call tech support and he said many times the Mac will see the 16 gig but Apple will only support in their literature and technical specs the 8 gig.  So if that is your situation, you can purchase and try but just make sure you can return just in case it does not work.  I have purchased my memory for my MacBook Pro (2010) through Newegg and it has performed great.  This particular memory I purchased for my Alien ware laptop and it has performed great.

Question 10

Is this RAM compatible with whatever is in an HP dm4-1160us laptop?  The laptop is about 6 years old.  I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 in their initial offering, and I NEED more RAM!

This memory is compatible, the only problem that you will run in to is the laptop that you mention caps out at 8GB of ram. if you have less than that, get the kit with 2x4GB sticks instead.
