Can I boot from this drive (OS 10.x for my Intel core duo Mac)?

I am not sure about being able to boot however I do have dual format Mac and windows. This is a premium drive and I would assume you could boot from it but I am not sure.

I want to use this as a backup drive for an older MacBook Pro that has Firewire 800 as well as Thunderbolt but has USB 2.0, not USB 3.0. Does purchase of this drive include cables for all 3, i.e, Thunderbolt, Firewire 800, and USB 3, so that the drive can be powered up by connecting to either Thunderbolt or Firewire 800? The USB 3 is good for future purposes if I upgrade my MacBook Pro.  Thank you.

The drive is fully compatible with Firewire 800, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0. I just tested it on a USB 2.0 port in a windows desktop, and another in a Linux laptop, and it spun at full speed and passed a read/write test. The device includes a Firewwre 800 cable (male to male), and a proprietary USB cable, as it common on G Drives (the back of their devices is often non standard USB). According to G Drive's specs, it is not compatible with Apple Thunderbolt. It does have two Firewire 800 ports on the back.
